Yeh some people can be a little pretentious. Maybe you can find some photography friends and share the pics with them :)
Do you mean you're anxious to get attention from people in public? Yeh, you might just need to get used to it. I used to feel a bit uncomfortable doing street photography, but tbh no one pays attention to you. It may help to bring someone along.
The takumars are actually Japanese lenses by Pentax. I used a bunch of Soviet ones too (Helios 44 and Pentacon 50) which were pretty good too. Just make sure you get the right mount adapter.
There are a bunch of reddit pages dedicated to getting feedback on pics (like r/photocritique) where you may feel more comfortable sharing your shots.
Thanks for the compliment!
Good luck.
I made some of my favourite pics with the A6000 with old vintage lenses. I highly recommend the super takumars for 50-100 $/ā¬. I am not sure why you feel uninspired. Perhaps the camera doesn't give the results you were looking for? Maybe you can share some photos to ask for feedback? Or scroll through this sub or r/sonyalpha for inspiration. The A6000 is a very capable camera and actually very compact, esp with the kit lens. If you want some examples, I got a bunch on my page. My best advise is: Just go out and shoot! If you need any help, feel free to message me. Enjoy.
Edit: If you use electronic shutter the camera will be nearly silent.
Haha for sure. Enjoy your new set up and be sure to share some shots on this page!
The A6000 is a great camera! It pairs well with vintage glass, though the 50mms are kinda tight with the crop. I actually took this picture with a full frame I borrowed (Sony A7Rii). IMO it does the takumar more justice, but it's a lot more bulky and expensive. The A6000 is a good camera if you want something light and portable.
Yeh, best to try it with the lenses you currently own and see for your self. I also have a Chinese 17mm MF and even with crop I think it's too wide. There are a bunch of 24mm M42 lenses that you might like, but I don't have any suggestions regarding those.
45 dollars (euros?) is a steal for that lens if it's in a decent condition!
I have been eyeing the Takumar 35 for a while too. Perhaps you would like the Super/SMC Takumar 28 3.5?
I have used a bunch of M42 lenses on my A6000, including the thoriated 7 element Takumar. It works great! The yellowing will make the lens slightly less bright, but it's not too bad. You can correct the yellow shade in Lightroom. Just make sure to shoot in RAW format. If you have any questions about the A6000 or mounting M42 lenses on it, feel free to message me. I've been happily using the A6000 for a year. The picture above is one of the few on my profile not taken with the A6000.
Edit: The thorium won't arm the sensor, as far as I know. Never read anything about that.
Reddit's compression is the worst :(
Vertical shot is awesome. Don't like the horizontal crop though. I don't think there is too much sky either. It spaces the buildings at the end nicely into the frame. If you crop the sky, they will be too close to the edge of the frame imo.
Ah, thought I recognised the pentacon. I have adapted the pentacon on my A6000 and made some of my favourite pictures with it. It's decently sharp, not the best, but can make interesting and colourful bokeh due to the coatings.
Edit: Here is an example of the colourful bokeh. This pic was made with macro rings.
Mounting shouldn't be too hard if you know which lenses you have. What lens is on the last pic?
Oh, klinkt leuk. Misschien ga ik Rondje Ameland ook nog eens lopen.
Ouch. Flinke afstand meteen ja. Oefenen voor de 4Daagse?
Thanks for the advice!
Odd, never seen this. The M42 PL mount adapter implies that it was used for filming, since PL is a mount commonly used in filmography. Perhaps it's a lens that was restored and/or customized for this purpose. Certainly does not look like any Helios' I've seen before, but I'm by no means an expert.
If the price is right :P
Nothing beats the 50
Thats cool! You should share some shots
Nice, I've been looking at the 28mm too. What do you think of it?
Looks dope. Which takumars did you use? The SMC 50?
So basically SkyWall 100?
Tired of FPV drones? How about trying the net launcher
