It’s definitely a bummer when performance doesn’t match expectations; I’ve had my share of that. I’ve had good luck with products made of Cordura in terms of durability and products with welded seams vs sewn (ie. Ortlieb, Rockgeist, sea to summit?) for waterproofness as well as decent durability.

For managing dust & dirt with your water bottles, you can keep the bottle you are drinking from in a feedbag on your handlebar & then transfer water from other bottles to that one as needed.

It’s all in the timing. An inch is as good as a mile.

I learned long ago that cars are not to be trusted. So yes.

Once again, a complaint about something that almost happened. How about you post something if one of theses supposedly dangerous individuals causes you actual harm.

I’d recommend attaching your water bottles directly to your wide foot cages using voile straps.

It sounds like you had a piece of fabric sandwiched between 2 hard surfaces (the cage and the water bottle). Generally speaking, that is something you’ll want to avoid in the future

Noice! Definitely a buy once, cry once item.

I’ve got the mini pannier rack sporting some Porcelain Rocket (now Rockgeist) Microwave Panniers on the back of a single speed Velo Orange Piolet. I also use their T-Rack on the back of my Stooge Rambler. It usually just has a dry bag on top but I’ve got a few different styles of King Cages that I can use on the rack legs if I need extra carrying capacity.

Not long. Maybe 2 trips. I’m still using both. Just not together.

I’ve done it & it works. No problems.

I like the map graphics better on MapOut. For longer trips, I also use a bike computer (wahoo) as primary navigation & the phone apps are just for backup or going off-route etc.

I made it across 3 continents without data. Get an app that allows downloading of map and route (while in WiFi) for use offline. I used Komoot for route development and MapOut (iOS only) for navigation.

If this is the one from Moline to Chicago, I did it. Support was excellent, route was decent- low traffic for the most part. I think about 40 people participated. I finished last. It was fun.

Start by not buying soda. That should do the trick.

This information is entirely unnecessary to the conversation as the “actively looking for work”qualifier had already been established earlier in the thread by Optimus Prime.

Thank you for the wholly unnecessary details defining “actively looking for work”. A qualifier previosly established during this conversation.

In other words: That’s exactly how it works and you’ve added nothing to the conversation.

Yes, that is exactly what Optimus Prime meant when he said “Actively looking for work”
