I haven't watched it in many years now. But, after I finish up with Rebuild of Evangelion, I'm gonna give it a re-watch. Such unique wit and design went into that show, I've never seen anything else quite like it.

He's an LHD, but generally played the right side and didn't thrive when we played him switch in the past. I'm not saying no, he just seems like a lower probability. I wonder how much he would prioritize a comfortable situation over a chance to win.

I think we've got to be considering a centre. Monahan seems like the obvious candidate, but maybe there will be others we get in on. Conny really seems to like to try to find diamonds in the rough, so it really wouldn't surprise me if we go after someone less predictable.

Sounds like Winnipeg is interested in extending Mony too. So no guarantees there either. I've heard it mentioned that one of their priorities is to find someone to play with and help Hubey get going. A shoot first guy who can take a pass and make a shot in tight like Mony could make sense. His face off numbers have also improved in the last few years. I'm not sure who else fits the bill. Maybe Stamkos and Henrique? Doubt we're a possibility for them though.

I was pretty sure we would be grabbing a defenceman before Kylington made it publicly known he was moving on. Now it seems like a guarantee we'll be going after an LHD. I could see us adding back Gio, but I doubt he'd be looked at for more than a 7th D role. So it's probably Gio and if we go that route.

And it's hard to say where we might prioritize and FA signing over a cap-dump deal.

I haven't watched him in TO, but he really seems like he's on the downswing of his career numbers wise. Is he worth putting any money into at this stage?

Don't listen to these softies. He's not doing us a solid, that's for sure. Hell of a way to repay a team that didn't say a peep during an unprecedented mental health absence and kept the millions coming. It may be his prerogative to test free agency, but it's still not cool.

Good picks, but we're still weak as balls at centre. I wonder if that's what we can expect us to target in free agency.

Oh get fucked, I'm not saying Coronato is a bust. I'm just saying that quote doesn't really add any assurance that being the top scorer in the USHL correlates to any assured success.

In Gondek's defence, Trudeau's unpopularity number is a national figure, so it contains the opinions of people on the West Island of Montreal or Toronto's Urban Core. If you took a Calgarian only opinion, I'm betting you'd get a different result. :P

It would mean more coming from someone who doesn't need a new brain. But it's a start.

I think over $600B in historical net over contribution to the rest of the country more than covers that.

And it's not like some federal spending doesn't originate in Alberta. Nor is it altogether clear cut that this was just some favour to Alberta. The Liberals let the situation degrade to the point where it was becoming both a threat to international investment and national unity.

They made the correct calculation that it was better to buy the pipeline than to let it fail. And they stuck by it admirably as the project dragged on, but in more competent hands, the cost no doubt ends up nowhere near as astronomical.

You can't blame the province for federal own goals.

I kinda like these suggestions TBH. They don't carry any long term risk. They let us accumulate more futures and if they go well, flip for another asset.

I doubt we'll go hog wild for some big name, but it wouldn't surprise me if we tried to add someone at 2C and 2nd Pair LHD.

I'd love it if we could do that while picking up an asset, but this does seem like a pretty flush free agency. So I can see us dipping into the pool.

We'll probably have about $4M-$6M less to work with when Kylington and Wolf are dealt with.

Clearly the man's finest hour.

It was good Mang. Good luck in Washington!
