Hey I have one of these guys too. Anyone know where to find film and where to develop said film? How much time is on the film?
My apologies. I see your last sentence has a double negative that I missed
Iâm not the one getting upset & insulting others
Ok well then your comment isnât clear because you start by agreeing most âwomen do not have hobbiesâ, mention that your cousin has a âsuperficial hobbyâ then say ââmost women Iâve dated as wellâ, then proceed to give reading, yoga, and Pilates as examplesâŚyou then compare these activities to the classes you take. So what was your intended point then? Maybe youâd like to be more precise with your words before getting angry that someone misunderstood them.
Idk thatâs odd to me. The women I know are so chalked full of activities and things on the go. Just as much of not more than men. I guess Iâm not sure what sort of basic people everyone in this thread is living with tbh.
My point is if the family is coming in, they are likely older too and might not have considered what they did as a hobby. The woman herself might not have considered it a hobby either. It was just what you did/ do.
They always roll away from me :(
Just because a hobby is popular or common doesnât mean itâs not a hobby. Almost every man I know likes sports and fishing but that doesnât disqualify them as hobbies. And no my point is not for you to entertain you wife - I donât think of women as needing entertaining - I was just asking because you mention spending a lot of time on your hobbies & historically men have had more time for their hobbies because the wife is at home taking care of the home/ children and thus they have less time for their own hobbies.
Yes this is exactly what I mean as well. For me make up isnât a hobby - just an annoying necessity. But I know for a fact a lot of women love it and put a ton of time and learning and experimentation into it
I think youâre being too literal about it tbh. A hobby doesnât entail people âcan tellâ. Pretty sure if you checked out make up tutorials on TikTok youâd see how much effort and artistry goes into it. Not my thing but Iâm aware enough to know itâs an art form in and of itself. As a painter, I want nothing more than for my work to appear effortless & the strokes be invisible
Ok coolio. That makes sense. Personally Iâve never complained to other people about being bored because I can always find something interesting and/or I was taught as a kid only boring people complain about being bored. I also want to travel and go on adventures, sadly not possible at this point in my life so I try to find mini/ local adventures. Anyways, being bored is a good thing - it leads to creativity.
Just ask because a lot of people do. I think being into a specific thing like hockey or true crime and getting into it can be a hobby. Scrolling Netflix mindlessly isnât
When I read âexploring new restaurantsâ in the context of discussing hobbies, thatâs exactly what I think of
If you read the thread multiple people are saying exactly that
I completely agree. The majority of responses on this thread do not
Yes it does. But when you say fashion is categorically not a hobby itâs a pretty strong statement that I think is fair to take to mean any level of engagement in fashion
Gym does not immediately equate weight lifting.
Actually doctors say the number one thing you can do for your health is walk. And how is exercising in a gym a hobby while walking isnât. There is no logic to that line of thought is my point
Tbf it was in a thread about women putting supposed non-hobbies in their profiles like walking - and I didnât understand why people would judge walking not a hobby
Men watching sports - hobby. Women watching reality tv - embarrassing. Men painting miniature figurines - hobby. Women trying new makeup techniques - vapid. Men going to breweries & tasting IPLâs - hobby. Women wine tasting - drinking. Men going to the gym or running - hobby. Women walking or hiking - exercise. Men cooking - hobby. Women cooking - feeding their family. Men gaming - hobby. Women on social media - mindless. Men going to Comic Con - hobby. Women going to True Crime Con - twisted. Men cafe culture - hobby. Women cafe culture - basic. Men LARPing - hobby. Women theme nights - silly. Men car culture - hobby. Women home decoration - cute. Men woodworking - hobby. Women knitting - old fashioned.
Itâs social media so itâs a biased take.
Also, you may as well ask âWhy were so many women uninterested in becoming great explorersâŚartistsâŚpoliticiansâŚ.merchantsâŚscientists.âŚin the past? Why were there only âgreatâ men until recently??â
Thereâs a reason crafts like quilts or embroidery or beading werenât traditionally considered âartâ âŚwere seen as lesserâŚa mindset that continues to this day and can be seen in these comments. Why men here will say things like âmy wife calls cooking & reading hobbies but they donât count because she only cooks for our family & she only reads before bedâ.
Iâll let you guess the root cause of both reasons.
Honestly I would never ask this specific thread for a rounded answer. Find a healthier site and Iâm sure youâll get a more balanced take.
Agreed. Mothers lose a lot for quite some time. I feel like once their kids are grown & especially they retire, women are constantly busy with their hobbies
Bronte is the way
My goth friend wants to name her baby something horrible.
