The IRS is just like this, they provide leave, I get it every year as a performance award, and I struggle to actually be able to use it. Just ridiculous.

My theory is that pain (or perhaps emotion) was found to be an abnormality. As in, it is SCP 5000 and has some pervasive transmission vector. In realizing that the vast majority of humanity is infected or afflicted, the Foundation decided to eradicate them.

If the O-5 found out and inoculated themselves against it, they would likely have no moral problems crushing the swathes of humanity infected by it. I know there's probably something lorewise explaining why I'm wrong but I like this idea.

Likewise. It is one of the few places where taking down dropships can actually be meaningful.

I absolutely hate that blowing up dropships is so unrewarding. I take the recoilless rifle almost every single run. I love it, it is so versatile. But I feel like every shot against dropships is utterly wasted and it removes any desire I have to shoot them down, other than hearing the satisfying noise. I have lots of small quibbles with bots, but the main thing is the dropships. I hate being punished for playing well.

I will echo what others said Dr. Ravi Mootha did an INCREDIBLE job. It was literally painless, at no point during or after did I feel even a twinge of pain. My insurance covered the whole thing, but without it is still only $600.

Thanks for your nuanced reply, really changed my perspective on how street urchins with diseases can be cured magically when people all over the city are dying to it too.

Right because if some street urchin shows an expensive ring, the people will totally do the right thing instead of beating him to death and taking it for themselves. Sorry, but this is a pretty poorly thought out opinion.

I stopped playing this league because the builds are still the same. It feels so samey for the last 3 - 4 leagues now

This is not correct. Form 2848 is for power of attorney and is invalid when someone is dead. The IRS also knows when someone is dead as the SSA informs them directly when a death cert is filed.

If you knew the deceased then Form 56 is necessary along with court docs or the will showing you are their representatives.

The IRS will NOT talk to you if you are some unrelated party calling for information. The IRS will NOT give out information from decedent accounts to just anyone who calls in.

And to the commenter I am replying to, stop giving out information you know nothing about.

Right, because the Roman empire did so well historically when their leaders died. Do you really think that the Legion exists without Caesar? Also, we're discussing a 14 year old game, there's very little that isn't going to be rehashed. Particularly when discussing, you know, one of the major factions in the game. No need to be a jerk because everyone else disagrees with you.

The Legion is only the Legion because of Caesar, once he dies the internecine struggles for power will cause them to either collapse completely or become too fractured to put up a real fight against the NCR.

If he wasn't an idiot you would be better served by illustrating how he isn't a total idiot. He's pretending to run a Roman empire without any of the foundation that established the Roman empire, and without the external pressures that created it. He's trying to take a shortcut to an empire.

Oh you're right. I'm a dummy and didn't read your post correctly, that's on me and I apologize.

You must be correct in this case.

Do we ever get the impression that these medical personnel need payment? There's a lot backwards about the Imperium, but universal Healthcare seems trivial with their resources.

Dalinar is my favorite character from SA, what does your comment even mean? How can a backstory be underestimated?

While I agree with you somewhat, it is important to note where we have been so far in the Wasteland. California has been rife with conflict and the meddling of the Enclave, Brotherhood, NCR, and to an extent the Legion. And then we have seen basically nothing east of Zion until we get to Appalachia. There's a real chance that there are semi-prosperous settlements in Colorado and I would argue the more likely candidates are the northern states like the Dakotas due to a, hypothetically, more temperate climate.

But the core of this is that disasters keep striking the wasteland, and these disasters are always centered around population centers. Plus, consider that we have seen nothing of other countries, or even the wider U.S. The amount of clean water needed to feed and house 10,000 people based on average usage in the 1900s would still be in the millions of gallons when you consider agriculture and livestock.

I am not saying it is impossible, but that amount of clean water in the wasteland would make any nascent settlement a huge target for raiders or the Brotherhood.

Yeah I've applied to the IRS's Cybersecurity exchange detail, so fingers crossed. That's the thing, I all I've applied for is GS7 because I'm painfully aware of my lack of experience.

And that hits at the core of what I was mentioning in my original comment. What you are implying is that I have to, what, leave the government for some private sector job, get experience, and then come back at the same pay grade I already am. What sense does that make, especially when you combine the lower pay for IT position in the government vs. Private.

I am not saying someone should give me an IT job out of the blue, I am advocating for training or upskilling so government workers don't have to leave their current career just to get experience, to ultimately come back to the government. That's asinine.

Hey, thanks for commenting, that's more generous than what I was expecting from me just venting.

I am not sure where to start for contracting honestly, I am not sure where to start. I just got my Sec+ on April 1 so this is recent. Any recommendations?

I am totally fine with a GS-7 in an IT role, I am GS-7 at the IRS and it is some of the most miserable demeaning work I have ever done, but I want to government pension and benefits. If I could send you my resume any pointers would be great (but honestly I don't expect it, just your advice here is more than enough, seriously). As far as resume, I know what is hurting me is that I don't have any work experience in IT, its all homelabbing and my Master's classes.

Once again, thank you for taking time out of your day. I mean it.

Master's in Cybersec, Sec+, and homelab descriptions in my resume, GS-7 in a non-IT role, and nothing but radio silence. They have to address this bizarre discrepancy between 2210 pay and requirements.
