It’s the memory of MK1 being the first arcade machine i ever played at The Spaghetti Warehouse in Hartford CT in the early/mid 90s (whenever it was out). I couldn’t have been much older than 5 or 6, i don’t think i even knew fighting games (or arcade machines) existed before that point, and i won my first round

Dude i don’t see any reason they couldn’t patch it in and have it work exactly like it did in invasions (maybe w a smoke-type effect instead of scorpion?). Thing is, i feel like they’d also have to weaken him in some way (or give human smoke a spear) to stop ppl from just ditching human smoke altogether lol

Dude he was brutal w that fucking chest spear in invasions. Was fun fighting against him, basically the ultimate rushdown character - that’s one of the only times i’ve lost a few rounds in invasions

Invasions kinda sucks tbh. It’s just too easy and the stage variations/obstacles are just more annoying than fun imo

Hahaha okay but also i’d be kinda interested to see what they did w Cap’n Crunch’s moveset. The thing about the guests in KP1 is that they all line up w some big commercial release (invincible s2, the boys s4, peacemaker) - and it just kinda feels like mega-corporate cross promotion.

And like you said, casuals love it/it brings people in. Hell, i was rly excited for the guests/think it’s cool to see what NRS does with them. But at the end of the day, i just think the MK dlc characters just have more lasting-power because they’re so much more interesting. Think abt Omniman’s movesets/combo paths vs someone like Ermac’s or Quan Chi. Takeda might end up being my new main, i have high hopes for him

I def forgot some of the buff/balance patches. Like dude reptile has gotten SO much better

I agree w the first part for sure, i think he has potential to be the best DLC. Overall, i’ve found that i actually prefer the MK characters as DLCs than guest characters. The guest characters are def fun, and its always cool/novel to see what they do with them. But ultimately i’m typically more into what they do w the MK characters/think they add to the game more.

I personally didn’t care for SF6, but i do agree that Tekken 8 is super fun. But for some reason, out of this generation of fighting games, i do feel like MK is my favorite franchise, including MK1. I think the issue w MK1 is that they build expectations up reallllly high, then just launched the game in a state that didn’t live up to that at all. I think it’s moving in the right direction/gets more interesting with each DLC and Kameo drop - i think the story expansion and KP2 will both be big steps in the right direction too

Whoaaaaa that’s good to know, esp because i just did it after having a couple grand sitting in there for a week or so. That card sucks anyway - tried to take $ out to pay our nanny. No dice, every amount i tried was over the limit. Tried to buy some clothes online. No dice, card was declined twice.

So my experience with Money Network has been consistently really lame - even before hearing about fraud/hacks, i’d recommend ppl get their cash out of their asap and into their bank. Either that, or just have EDD send you checks, because yikes man. This was a downgrade from the B of A situation.
