I’m currently planning turning a small bedroom into a proper theater room and been debating had between an OLED 77+ or a nice projector. The room is so small I think OLED would be the perfect size and I’m not huge on projectors anyways.

QLED is a good upgrade over regular 4k without the OLED price. I got a Vizio for 400ish range. OLED is much better but we’re talking 800+

I live in the south too with a town of maybe 5k people. The closet regal is about 40 mins on the interstate. I also have to drive the same distance for a Walmart. That’s just what living in a rural community is. We don’t have the population to keep a movie theater in business.

Churches on every block. Dollar general every 1.5 miles. Liquor store and smoke shops that outnumber the fast food joints. Maybe 1 non chain restaurant in the whole town. Payday loan advertising all over.

My old place was a small family owned factory maybe less than a hundred people. But responsible for parts that go to transmissions for ford GM and several smaller players.

I’ve lost all faith in manufacturing quality there. Not all of them are bad but the ones with unions seem to have a better handle on the worker. But they’re all overworked. Not sure if there is a perfect place but there’s definitely some truly awful ones.

It’s not bad but it does feel slow and the beginning hook about what it means to be human turned me off pretty fast. Not to go there but you did fully write this script right? Not AI generated or edited in any way?

The visual editing worked well I thought. Maybe some of the moments like explaining the AI used to play chess or the google deepmind playing the other game could use some info about what they’re actually doing and an example of the AI playing the game instead of just glossing over.

The history of AI is a compelling idea but I dislike the angle of “can Ai become human” and I’m not just an overall AI hater but it just feels like the wrong angle to take. The short answer of that I think we all already know. Maybe just turning the idea into where can AI go and briefly touch on the idea of gaining consciousness, but like I said I don’t really want to watch a documentary about that more than I would just a history lesson.

Used to work at a place like that. Our motto was “Total customer satisfaction, zero defects” and I saw the most bending over backwards mental gymnastics to send out obviously fucked parts.

Got a new job at a place with a steel workers union. Cannot list the difference in attitude and safety. The hours are much longer but the pay is much better. Get your experience in and find somewhere else. Always a better job somewhere especially

Used to work in a lil mom and pop style gas station when they rereleased it. Maybe 2017-2018? I remember he had a trip up north and on his way back he called saying he found a whole bunch at some place and was bringing a pallet for me because I asked for extra. Bought maybe 50 of them for a dollar a pop. Kinda wish I had gotten even more just to set back.
