Hit up Bass Pro, they have a huge fathers day sale right now.

I dry brined these in the fridge for about 4 hours, then hit them with a tad of avocado oil and seasoned them up while I got my charcoal ready.

Used jealous devil lump along with a few chunks of post oak. While burning some of the wood down into coals, I had the steaks resting on the counter top for 30-40 minutes total. Then tossed the steaks on the grill directly over the coals, flipping about every minute or so until they were about 8-10 degree from being done. Then moved them to indirect and added another oak chunk to get some smoke. Left them this way until they finished at 127-128°F IT. Then let them rest in a wire rack for 15 minutes before slicing.

I appreciate it! The family was pretty happy with them. 0 leftovers 😆

They will do both. But these were pre packed and out on the floor. You can request them to be cut to a desired thickness, or also buy the whole roast.

I love a good ribeye too. Its been my #1, but these are narrowing the gap more and more every time I cook them.

What are you looking at now instead of the president?

I have read that A LOT about the new models. Seems like last years were a little better, but the general consensus is they have progressively gotten worse the past 3-4 years. Which sucks because I'm in the market for something like the President. I was strongly considering buying a new one until reading up on them.

More than likely, there was another issue that compounded this into backlash. Probably had line wrapped around one of the ends holding the bale, handle, bottom of the spool, or something like that. Backlash isn't a typical problem from spinning reels.

When you're backing the line out though, just make sure you've got some pressure on the line before reeling it back on to the spool. Knots and loose line can wreak havoc on a reel.

Keep the rod, replace the reel. The rod is the value in that combo anyways. That gives you more time to decide if the baitcaster is still a route you want to take.

Nice review! I have a bottle of this that I'm nursing because I'll be devastated once it's gone. Really really good stuff.

I know it's not quite the same, but if you mix some rare breed with rare breed rye (60/40 - 65/35 ish), you can get a moderately similar profile. Just a tad warmer, but it does have that savory bourye profile.

If this is true, Fields will be out of the league in no time. Foles is one of the NFL's all-time good guys. His ex teammates gush over that guy.

If you're starting off fishing in a small/shallow residential pond, you will probably be catching perch, bass, and occasionally a channel cat. With that said, I would empty your cart and start over.

Look for a lite/ultra light combo like the Bass Pro Micro Lite Spinning combo or the Crappie Max spinning combo. Both of these run about $50. Micro Lite is on sale right now. If you're dead set on swapping the line, look for some hi-vis Mr Crappie, or Sufix

Hooks: Get one of the packs that has an assortment from size 4 to size 8

Weights: Get one of the assortment packs with about 50 pieces or so. Should cover everything you need.

Bobbers: Buy a pack or two of the cheap white and red bobbers

Lures/Bait: pick up a couple of cheap swim baits or jigs and also buy a box of worms

That's really all you need. Collectively, everything above might cost $75-$100, tops.

I agree. Something is wrong here because Lineage is a fantastic bottle.

Thats a tank of a white crappie. Congratulations man thats a damn nice fish!

I doubt he was eager to call 90% if his fan base racists. He had to flick the mud somewhere.

There are some really good tips in here so far.

One thing I would do personally, is ditch the clip on the line. I am a firm believer in proper knots and leaders, and I truly notice a difference in the amount of fish I catch. I like a santee cooper or basic slip rig for catfish and make sure you're using an appropriate hook.

Outside of that, don't be afraid to take a few different rod/reel combos if you can and set up different baits on each one. Once you find out what they like, load them all up the same and really hit em hard.

Good luck!

Damn, pantyhose never helped me any. Just made me itch.

If you do any catfishing at all, keep it. I know they aren't fancy, but they are damn near indestructible and I have yet to hook a fish that they can't drag in.

I just fill mine up with super hot water and dawn, add a couple tablespoons of bleach and sit it outside on my back porch for a few days. Usually by the time it evaporates significantly, the smell is gone.

If its a Stagg and not Stagg Jr, and 131 proof, I believe its batch 18
