Older artists also tend to reject social media and marketing, so they get drowned out.

Anthony Rother has been making scifi-esque music for decades.
Also see Carl Finlow, Plant43, Silicon Scally, Boris Divider, E.R.P.

Easy to get to the party, very chaotic and long wait to leave it

i guess it depends where you are at

you can be new at it but be making music that sounds raw but good

it's unclear if the predicament you're in is a confident issue or a skill issue

if it's skill -- your tracks could be "objectively" good and there would still be people who would think it's bad; try not to use the opinions of others as a litmus test, especially if they are consumers. if you really need to, seek a mentor for feedback.

Are you doing anything to funnel listeners to your Bandcamp..?

There's nothing to get; it's just not your thing I'm sure there's tracks you think are amazing that others would find boring

Hi. I include these styles (but not hard techno) when I spin. Playing ASSMBLY next week and with MRD in July. More dates TBA soon 🙂

Labels only accept the style of tracks they've been releasing the past year.

Produce until your track is good enough, not "perfect". Find a mastering engineer. Pick a distributor like distrokid. Create a basic marketing plan / learn how to make content. Find a mentor if you get stuck (I offer this service).

In all, take chances and move quickly 🙂

I thought my early work wasn't good enough. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. But I think I should've still started releasing sooner and become less afraid of being judged by others.

I would've started releasing music sooner.

probably worth staying in the cities where you can take the glitch shuttle buses

opening and closing parties are totally worth it

the space for the opening party is breathtaking

if you want something to go to this week, come to WORK on Saturday night

i suggest arriving early if you are new to the scene, that way it's less intimidating and you can witness the party slowly fill up

i'll be there, i'm playing the opening set

You lucked out. Carl Cox's stage on Sunday is in my top 5 party experiences ever.
