Oh, that is a scathing review. Though the critic seems not too fond of the musical itself. Sunset certainly is one of Webber’s better works, certainly superior to Love Never Dies or Beautiful Game. It has some great numbers, but you have to like Webber’s style of course. Reading about Brightman is sad, it really seems she’s in over her head there. I’d be interested in seeing some clips from the show to get a glimpse if it is really that bad.

I agree with the others. Lansbury definitely is the best Mrs. Lovett, though the concert version with Patti LuPone is also well worth watching.
