Alright Sports Semi-Fans...au gratin

So do I blame iHeart for literally killing terrestrial radio for me? I appreciated my little tentative hook to knowing what was going on with my local sports, but I truly appreciated the talk radio featuring current events. That little inside dialouge track for sports was the magic amount I searched for to keep current, the rest was the gold bouillonon on top of the wealth of knowledge. I personally believe it was a terrific balance. I'm curious to hear from people who, like myself, aren't super sports fans.

Ahhh as in a free heads up that you're coming for them, thanks from the naive people.

Even beyond this... if customers are willing to pay the labor hours for a proper inspection, that's profit. Then there's the service opportunities involved with found deficiencies that also come with more labor dollars. But I can't tell you how many times I've had a customer switch service providers and ask why it took so long for us to perform their annual...until I show them the dusty construction cover that's been on their smoke detector for ten straight years of testing with xyz company.

This, I would love to know the reasoning behind. For cya purposes.

My mentor is an old man pushing 80 this year, crotchety as all hell and tells the same stories again and again; but he sure still does get a phone call from me every December on his birthday. If it wasn't for him...I'd probably be bored out of my mind terminating rj45s all day for twenty bucks an hour.

I'm thinking I might join you both in that move.

This is a terrific question that I wish was made into a standard interview query.

That sounds exceptionally like you rather need to train a monkey.

Ooof this sub needs a warning for those with OCD triggers. Got me grabbing the vacuum for all my hobby areas jic I drop a turret. 🤣

A PAM-SD will allow for circuit supervision in-line on a class B NAC. Used one to trigger a mag drop a while back, picked the closest A/V device, easy peasy.

I had a Fire-Lite 9050UD that would power on from cold, boot through the initialization...then right before system normal screen it would boot loop and do it again. Never got an answer as to actually "why," but tech support said replace so we upgraded. I can't say I know too much about circuit board engineering so that was a good enough plan of action for me.

Best bet is to complete the Honeywell lost password request process with the participation of the system owner. They email a form, you grab a specific number off the panel, and they will give you a backdoor specific to that board you're working on.

A fair number of the questions reference the different tags (i.e inspection, service, impaired or inoperable) specifically the types of info you'll find on each one like "Address of Company" etc. I also remember a good number of them relating to what functions the different roles can be allowed to perform like "Planning Superintendent vs Fire Tech vs Engineer" nail those to give yourself some solid cushion.

Honestly if you memorize all the quizlet flash cards, then you are good to go for a passing score. I've never understood how people have to re-take either portion in Texas.

You can try metering circuits for continuity and proper resistances to try and locate the present trouble, but that panel limping along is done for.

Fire-Lite MS series? They allll bug out like that given enough time. Starts with one or two random characters until it gets this bad. Like FACP Alzheimers.

I once had a super fast intermittent internal ground fault on the NAC 1 of an old Notifier AFP-100 panel that was being used as a trigger. Definitely had me chasing my tail for a couple hours. Central station caught it for sure, but standing in front of the panel it came in and out so fast I had to set up a camera and slow down the video to catch it saying anything other than "system normal." Resistored it off and ground persisted, bad board. Had to be replaced anyway because the maintenance guy destroyed the piezo after getting fed up with other techs saying the problem was fixed just because it said system normal. 🤷‍♂️
