A lot of these accounts are throwaways so makes sense if the account is new. There are “readings of the will” but it’s usually just a formality and not a big meeting like the movies. And there are 2 year law schools (google is free).

Internship Struggles - Ind. Research?!?Career Help
So I’m a junior ME student, and I’ve been trying to get an internship the past 2 years for the summer. The co-op program at my school isn’t very good, so that’s not an option for me.
I’ve applied to almost 100 internships and have either not had a response or I was turned down for all but 2. One was a BS “internship” that was more for business students and you had to pay to partake, and the other is completely my fault, they sent an email with times to meet, I thought it was for the next week, as half the times listed in the email were from earlier in the week. When I reached out after a few days, I realized my mistake and they already had the position filled. (Whole thing went down within a week) I was in the middle of midterms and really stressed, but again, completely my fault.
I now end the semester in 2 weeks and still have nothing set up for the summer. My only other option at this point is to get a part-time job for the summer, and maybe do a personal project on the side. Has anyone done something similar? Or do you have any insight on how internship experience compares to an independent research project? I’ve been trying to work on a research project with a professor at my university, but none of them have research starting any time soon. (The only confirmed timeline I have for one of them starts this time next year)
