Everything you listed is offset by the fact that last year was his fourth year in the same system and love had prior real game experience. Stroud was a true rookie, first year in the league, first year in his system.
If you look up disc craft players pack you will get an idea of what it cost the TD assuming the shirt came from discraft. You can also see a tournament disc cost roughly 7-12 dollars and they encourage you to take retail value out of the entry. So if you got two discs they could say retail is $22 each instantly taking $44 from the entry just for those discs not including the other items.
Edit: I run events and the TDs should absolutely make money but $20 out of $100 seems super small.
$20 of your entry went into the actual winnings. Out of curiosity what manufacturer was the sponsor.
I’ve heard “the bears still suck” chants at none bears games. It happens both ways.
That’s the problem, players with huge potential aren’t known by fans of other teams. Go ask the other subs and see if they can name the guys on the packers that you think have huge potential.
You don’t think the other teams have guys with “huge potential” plus true #1s
Please explain where this idea that love has a strong arm came from? all year he under threw his deep balls by 5+ yards. How many games did he get blessed with Pi calls because of ir
Your comparing a once every year if not longer event to something that happens weekly. Big brain
So to be clear you think it’s better to keep a player who you project to be a top 5 in their specific position instead of trading them for someone who IS young and already top five. What’s the realistic best case scenario in your situation? He actually becomes a top 5 QB for his whole career. Statistically he has better chance to be a 6 game wonder and be out of the league. But even if he isn’t you are still saying you wouldn’t trade him TODAY for a top five QB while hoping he becomes as good as the guys you won’t trade him for.
Okay so hypothetically you gain some casual viewers I would imagine you also lose some of the current viewers. We always hear the same thing “we are tired of these open golf courses on tour” people want to see the pros challenged. We want wooded technical holes we want to see pros challenged and forced to throw 450-550 accurate shots. The last thing we need is open holes where the worst score taken is par.
See I disagree, I think the less punishing courses create a larger disconnect from none disc golfers. I think people know Golf as a low scoring sport so the more often we have these 12-13 down rounds it gives the impression to casual people that the sport is too easy.
No the difference between us is I’m realistic. You are “hoping” he becomes something and are taking the stance that hope is better than trading him for QBs who are actively top 5 in the league. Nobody in their right mind says no to trading love for any of the guys I previously mentioned. In your scenario the worst case is you trade love who you are hoping becomes a top QB throughout his career for guys that are under 30 and already top 5. The down side is love could regress and be out of the league. Understand? This literally happens all the time.
You are comparing 6 games to players who have done it for multiple YEARS. This isn’t rocket science.
I think it’s delusional to think love is currently better than, burrow, mahomes, Lamar, Herbert, and Allen. Progress is never guaranteed so any GM who was offered any one of those QBs for love after just last year and turned down that trade would most definitely get fired and be a “former” GM.
Souls/bloods for shadow or scythe. Also wrath’s for take where it’s worth using normal spells with elemental weakness
It’s coming off argumentative because our perspectives are completely different. If you haven’t ran an event then it’s hard for you to truly understand. You are saying TDs aren’t being truthful. I’m saying they are 100% being truthful. They are taking $20 from your entry and giving you at least $20 in product, that’s being truthful. It shouldn’t matter how much it cost them to get it as long as they are giving you fair value. You don’t say retail stores are being dishonest when they sell you product knowing good and well they don’t buy it for that price. If you are worried the TD isn’t giving fair value then I would assume others feel the same. Bad TDs get ran out of the tournament scene so fast and they aren’t hard to spot. But this idea that you should know is purely from a negative motive. You are essentially saying you don’t think the service they are providing is worth the difference which in most cases is $11? Or roughly $550 if 55 and if they don’t kick any of it back into the prize pool. Let’s not even discuss how some of these events are club ran. How do you think some clubs pay for new baskets at your public cours, tee signs, equipment to help with up keep when parks departments aren’t willing to mow certain areas. How about bag tags? I’ll end with I have no need for players pack discs they do nothing for me and I typically sell them to a local guy $5 a disc so that he can sit at parks and sell them out of his truck. But I’d still pay the exact same players pack or not if that means I get a TD who puts the time and effort into running a sanctioned event. That’s worth the full price.
It is true, if you go buy a disc from a retailer you are paying more than $20. The TD is not required to put any portion of the players pack in the payout. You are literally asking an individual to spend hours of their time, money, physical labor to make sure a course is recently mowed OB lines are clear and marked for free. They should by all means take more than what they do. Thankfully a lot of them are more interested in providing a service to the disc golf Community then making massive profit. When applying for disc sponsorship they literally encourage you to take retail price for the disc.
The people that want this type of event are the minority. It’s proven when you look at your local events and see what fills and what doesn’t.
Depending on the sponsor a tournament disc is typically $9. The TD is having to pay for the park, front the money without a guarantee that the tournament fills meaning they might pay for 50 discs and only have 40 ams so they lose money. A lot of TDs will also value the players pack at $20 which is lower than retail for a disc then kick back $7 into the winnings. Simply put taking $20 from entry is within their right, they should and it’s not the whole picture.
Work towards combat achievements. Push yourself to complete dt2 bosses, do wildy slayer and bring anti pk gear to spice things up. Teach average players how to raid. Something that helped me get another 100 raid kc was teaching friends and watching how excited they got.
The packers had a better OL and having better WRs doesn’t offset three years of experience in a system. I don’t think you understand how big of an advantage that is for Love. He not only knows his reads but he knows how ppl try to defend the system, where his outlets are when things break down.
Enough said
