Once again I see a theater experience described as an absolute worst case scenario that doesn’t exist in the real world. I think theaters need to adjust to the market and offer a different experience, like they are doing with Dolby Cinema and IMAX, but the experience detractors describe is not at all the true to life theater experience.

I view your take as one in the same with people who say they’d rather listen to an album on Spotify, so concerts suck and shouldn’t really happen anymore.

I get that, but this level of media literacy is pretty equivalent to Game of Thrones fans saying John Snow killed the Night King and became king. Just a complete misread of the entire last season.

Why do people like you insist on complaining about food prices as reasons theaters suck? Like yeah, I also pay the cost of a six pack for two beers when I’m at a bar.

There was absolutely a need to see Civil War in a theater. The sound design was worth it itself, but the experience of watching something with an audience and with no distractions is still important. It seems people like you are cheering for the downfall of an art form that you don’t respect. It’s like every comment on every box office post ever. Like great, we get it. You want all WB movies to be able to instantly download into your phone so you can consume them as content as fast as possible while checking emails and making dinner. Next. More content. Next.

I had arguments with people who watched the entire show and were convinced that the finale proved they were all dead the whole time. Turns out a network TV audience isn’t great at picking up plot points that are clearly fed to the audience.

I’m convinced everyone who hated the finale and hasn’t done a reappraisal since then never even liked the show to begin with. Lost is one of the best finales ever.

Get there early. This place has the worst vibe I’ve ever witnessed in a venue. Like a 14 year old who thought strip clubs are sexy was an interior decorator. Lights around all the sides stayed on, throughout the show, which is ridiculous, and washes out the view of the stage if you aren’t in the middle. Dude who seems to be the owner does an overzealous wand metal detector and pat down, and it took forever when I went. Seemed like an excuse to touch the women to me. Just get a walk through one. I’ve never been patted down like that, even in places like NYC or DC.

Can’t wait to get offered a free ticket to a Nickelback show one state over

The criminal trial was not a democrat party push. It was a criminal justice system push. He is convicted and on trial for so many crimes because he has committed crimes. The republicans didn’t need to make a criminal their president and then candidate again. The fact that they did does not have anything to do with democrats.

Cinemas demand your attention with a whole audience. At home, people will be alone, scroll on their phones, get up to do other things, etc., but lie and say it’s the same experience.

It makes me feel the same type of way that concert photos do when they’re really just pictures of 2000 other people’s phone screens.

People completely disrespect communal art experiences these days to the point of saying they’re not even as good as solipsistic content downloading.

This is what I constantly see posted by people who never go to theaters. I live in a million person city, see at least two movies a month in a variety of like four different cinemas, and I haven’t had a bad audience experience since Man of Steel. You’re either full of shit or just have bad luck.

Streaming probably made theaters better because shit audiences don’t go anymore, but people like you still spout off this nonsense.

Movies streaming two weeks after theatrical release is more of an assurance you’ll never get a good blockbuster again than it is a benefit of a streaming service.

Do people think typing words in sentences is the majority of computer work? What? Emails are the shit you need to do around your job…

Because of 4 years of Trump? Because Biden isn’t as unlikeable as Clinton?

Whoa, tough guy over here. Everyone check out the muscles on this real cool dude.

Just voting third party isn’t a solution to the ratfuckery though. It’s accepting it. Vote whatever way you want, but it’s clear that the powers that be truly don’t want a fair presidential election if they keep the incumbent and one of the two main candidates off the ballot citing a rule they selectively enforce.

If you support Trump still, there isn’t a single conversation that will change your mind.

So many people say they’d kill Hitler if they could go back in time, but it seems to be a comment on hindsight more than a comment on fascism.
