I've been producing for a long time and I'm almost embarrassed to say that u still don't know what a channel strip is or does! I'm going to do some research on my own, but I'm wondering if it's a useful tool in EDM/Dubstep production? I got a free izotope channel strip plugin and want to know if it's worth learning about it.
Depends on the river you are fishing... The Ottawa River is usually a bit stained and I think the fish adjust to that. So if you aren't catching them then it's your presentation or location that is the problem. When the Rideau river gets stained or muddy color, then the fishing is usually very poor and I just wait for it to clear up.
I've always had more luck wading up the jock river then at the mouth there. But if it's a nice cloudy, overcast day then probably a few Muskies will be there
My issue with presidents is there awful reel handle. I've owned 2 now where the handles spin off and I lost it. If you bang them around enough, it comes loose. If you want to keep them intact, make sure u tighten your handle EVERY time you finish your fishibg trip.
As far as locations go, the island on the map looks promising. Also the bays should be good too... If it's a rocky lake then finding rocks that are different ( like big boulders around gravel) will be good, and also weeds and sandy bottom could work as well
Since you have a spincast rod, I would stick with some nightcrawlers, worm hooks and bell sinkers. Also some bobbers and splitshot weights. These rigs are very easy to fish, and with a spincast reel and a heavy weight u can cast a mile, which is fun as hell lol! First rig: tie your hook on to the line, make sure you leave about 12 inches of line dangling after you tie the hook. Add sinker to the dangling line. For this I do a simple overhand knot, that way if you snag, you will only lose the sinker and not the whole thing. Second rig: attach your bobber ( stand up bobber or the classic red and white will do) then pinch some splitshots below the bobber, put on as much as you can so u can cast easier and it's not too light. Then about 6inches below the splitshots tie on your hook. If you want the rig to go deeper, slide the bobber up your line. These may seem like simple rigs, but they are crazy effective and the most basic way to catch alot of fish and figure things out. Good luck and hope you nail a bunch!
Ahhh ok so maybe it's worth it for my guitar productions then... I do fiverr gigs and really would like to streamline my workflow.
Ya I'll at least download it and move some parameters around
Ok so basically it's a way of restricting your choices. if that's the primary function than I don't think I'll be needing it. I don't usually have an issue with being overwhelmed by plugin options on my tracks, so thanks for that breakdown, I appreciate it
Ok cool thanks for the tips! I'm actually in the need of something for additive eq, I use Ableton eq8 and I don't like the resonances I get when I use it.
Ok this makes sense. so it's basically a tool to colour the sound in an analog style?
For sure! If you feel like it's not working, you have nothing to lose
Have u tried different types of meds? Wellbutrin works for me
Dude no joke u should get a whiteboard, and everyday you put one thing that needs to get done on it. It works for me... Most of the time
Have you ever gone camping for 2 days, and you pack the SUV up so full of stuff u can barely move...then on the last day you realize that you forgot your special coffee mug for that early morning drink. Next camping trip: SUV full of stuff again PLUS 3 extra mugs
Hahaha been there 🤣 For me it's like this:I get home, and I have to clean the litter box. So I go to get the garbage from the kitchen, and I see that dishes need to be done too. Mental note. I go to clean the litter box, some falls on the floor. Floor is dirty, I need to vacuum.Mental note. Go to kitchen to do the dishes, phone alarm goes off. Need to take my meds. Go to the the bathroom to get meds, then go to dining room table for my water bottle. The tables a mess. Mental note. Go back to kitchen to do the dishes, finish them. Now it's time towork on music. Choice: work in music, or do my chores first? Answer: sit down and watch YouTube. The end
I think the "tortoise and the hare" story encapsulates ADHD perfectly, for me anyway. I have always been the hare, running around constantly, not thinking things through. I will get alot of things done quickly, but then I tire myself out just as fast. The other downside is that I will see the mountain of things I need to accomplish, and because I'm a "hare" those things need to be done now, quickly, and at the same time 😆 This is a motivational killer and I would end up putting things off, and the list just kept getting bigger. I'm 40 now, and through alot of work, good role models, and just plain experience, I'm learning to be more like the tortoise. Slow and steady. You accomplish a little bit, every day. The upsides to this approach are tremendous. You actually get things done, you accomplish your goals(which feels GREAT to people with ADHD) , and you don't burn yourself out and stress. Consistency is the key to getting control of your ADHD.
Are you in good shape? If you exercise and eat healthy this situation is much less likely to happen. You also said that you come in and intend to do "twenty" things... That's a big mistake too. It's better to do one thing each day, consistently, than to do nothing and get discouraged. Small steps all the time works wonders for me and I am an old ADHD guy lol
I still haven't tried one yet! I'm curious how they do with smallmouth bass? The fish near me live in fast current and are incredibly strong, so a good drag is essential to catch them
Not exactly a plugin, but an upgrade to Ableton suite!! If for no other reason than to get the roar plug in. It's literally worth the upgrade price on its own imo
If I can get away with it, I'll use a baitcaster as much as possible. It casts faster, farther, and usually more accurate than a spinning reel. However, where I live the water is really clear and their is quite a bit of fishing pressure, so I find I'm using a spinning reel for finesse presentationa more than half the time for my bass fishing.
I don't think Ican hear the whole song, but I definitely get flashes of things that I can add or change. Usually it's in the form of melodies or drum hits or rolls, but also I can tell what kind of texture of sounds I want as well. It all comes from making alot of music and practicing alot, u start to know what will work even before trying it.
I have 2 ambassedeurs, and they are amazingly built pieces of machinery! They are used to throw my big musky and pike lures.. been with me for 19 years and the gears are almost like new. Idk how Abu does it, but they are great
Hers a tip: open up the hooks on your frog a little bit. Keeping them a bit away from the body of the frog will increase your catch rates. Also make sure the hooks are razor sharp, and wait until you feel weight to set the hook
I play guitar really well and think your worries are just silly. The only reason I learned guitar is because it helped me communicate better through music. It took thousands of hours of practice. If you told me that there was a cheat code that let me get to self expression without going through the hardships of practicing scales, chords, theory etc. I would take it without thinking twice. The only thing that matters is the songs, if they sound good without Live instruments, congratulations!! You are automatically ahead of those people because you don't need to sit and learn to physically play an instrument.
Feel guilty that all my instruments are digital and that I do not play anything live
