Former stylist here with an entire family (currently 4 generations) of curly headed ninny muffins with all the varied textures and patterns. His hair appears to be very course. I would use smoothing formula shampoo and conditioner and let him know if he wants to grow it, maintenance, including conditioner is madatory. (Or birds may try to nest in there šŸ˜‚) See if heā€™s invested enough to try the ā€œsquish to condishā€ method. He needs some after wash styling products. The best Iā€™ve found for creating soft uniform curls is LUS Brand ALL IN ONE. If he squeezes that into his hair while itā€™s still soaking wet before he gets out of the shower I think youā€™ll see a transformed head of hair.

If heā€™s not showering in the morning, he can refresh with a mister bottle with some of the All in One added to the water. And again, squeeze it into the hair.

Also make sure to keep it trimmed on a regular schedule to keep the ends from drying out and fraying which will keep the frizz down too and help keep the curl pattern consistent. And depending on how long he wants to grow it, keep some layers in it because this type of hair tends to grow out before it gets enough weight to hang down.

Stay away from matte products & heavy foundations. I have dry skin as well and anything matte amplifies my pores.
After moisturizer Iā€™ve been using a smoothing primer balm and instead of foundation Iā€™ve been using a tinted balm (a less expensive version of Jones Road Miracle Balm) followed by a light dusting blurring powder either translucent or just barely tinted pink. Itā€™s made for a dramatic and dewy effect that minimizes the dry and porous appearance rather than emphasizing it.

My Jones Road balm dup is Bayfree on Amazon. You can get the Purple Dream primer and selected tinted balm in a 2-fer deal. (Julystar loose micro powder is a winner too)

Iā€™ve been trial & erroring may way through a resolution for my dry large pore aging skin and this has finally been the working combo.

That is making the most of some level 12 boredom, right there !!

Um yeah I can see a hint of RR around the eyes and face shape but TBH I was getting 90ā€™s Harry Hamlin over RR. Pic 2 gives a more young refined look, Iā€™d stick with that.

Not bad at all. Probably could use a little more on the sides/corners where itā€™s still thin and fragile to avoid further environmental breakage and damage but overall job well done. If you schedule trims more regularly, like every 10-12 weeks your ends will always be thick and healthy. Youā€™ll be amazed how just nicking those ends in a maintenance plan will improve the health and look of your hair.

Which depending on light a surrounding colors they can appear to change making one of the colors appear more predominant. My daughter has hazel eyes and tries to convince me that they are more predominantly green.

I used to be a daily but since a move yrs ago to a different climate and my age Iā€™m now a 1x per week. However I maintain fresh curls by sleeping with my hair secured with a velvet scrunchie on top of my head and when I shake it out in the morning I give my curls a refresher with a mister with a little Control Freak serum added to the water. Mist all over, turn my head upside down and squish the moisture into the curls, shake my fingers through the roots and when I flip my head back over looks day 1 fresh & bouncy. Most of us with natural curls tend not to get ā€œgreasyā€ hair so itā€™s easier to go longer between washes & also keeps the dry and frizz at bay.

Itā€™s a light golden brown. Highlights would brighten it up like itā€™s been sunkissed

Ah the good ol ā€œdo as I say, not as I doā€ type of parenting

Pic 1 itā€™s hot more dimension than just flat brown

3 minsā€¦? Did he just get out of prison?

I had straight hair until puberty and then the curls came. Then when I was pregnant my hair felt like it was coated with wax (but not greasy) and pulled all the curls out. Literally hours after I had my daughter my hair started bouncing back up and wishing 2 days was back to curly. My whole family has ringlets but Iā€™m the only one that lost mine during pregnancy. Very weird.

Sounds like they are trying to get info to maybe pull a rental scam with their home, or the neighbors home. A couple of yrs ago when rents first started getting outrages my daughter was looking for a place. She found a nice furnished apt downtown in her exact budget range & the owner was fine with her having her 115lb dog live with her too. First she was emailing with a ā€œDentistā€ that claimed it was his place, sent her all his information and included a copy of his ID to verify thatā€™s who she was talking to. Said he had bought it a year ago but then decided not to live here full time, thus it being fully furnished. He asked her to follow put an app (no app fee) along with her ID. She did and thatā€™s when it started getting weird. The owner then asked her to send a deposit to and second person (supposedly his partner) but the name on the recipient didnā€™t match. Then this person seemed to have taken over and kept flinging emails at her about where & who she was in relation to the owner, it was weird. I told her no way donā€™t send any money until you get to look at the place. Owner said he understood but didnā€™t want her to lose the place. She said she didnā€™t care she wanted to see it first. He said it was available on a specific day/time but he would have to have (a sudden 3rd party) fed ex her the keys since he didnā€™t have a local property manger, but again pushing for a deposit to send and then 3rd party guy started flinging emails with info that again was weird. She was emailing the owner asking why all this other people were involved in the transaction, again some weird responses that didnā€™t really connect them. She gad shown me the pics they had sent her about the place and she googled the address to see that it existed, but I had been kind of hanging back to allow her to be her own adult. She knows I donā€™t play and will investigate the hell out of something/someone before committing to anything, so she told me she was getting weird vibes, & showed me all the communications. I have worked in RE & Development for years so have a whole bag of tricks to find property info. I looked up the address and the legal owner of the property didnā€™t match any of the 3 people. I told her to email the owner and ask about it. Again, some odd explanation with so much unnecessary info that never are sense. I told her to ask him for his number so she could call him. Thatā€™s when all communications ceased. I did a search on the actual owners name and found he & his wifeā€™s local address. I found him on FB and sent him a message that his place was attempting to be used in a rental scam. I didnā€™t hear anything back. Daughter moved on and found a place that had a local property manager. She was there for about a month when I got a FB message from the actual owner of the apartment. He apologized for not responding to me right away but thanked me for contacting him to let him know about the scam and ironically the tenants that he had in the place had called him freaked out as the police come to the door and asked them a bunch of questions on who they were and how & why they were living there because the ā€œreal tenantā€ had called them reporting them as squatters, as they had just rented the place. They finally got the real owner on the phone who confirmed they belonged there and that it appeared to be a scam. He hadnā€™t read my message until after this scary event so what was a very bizarre event now made sense to him. He thanked me again and I couldnā€™t wait to tell my daughter she dodged a bullet and always trust your gut if something feels too good to be true or thereā€™s something just off.

But they donā€™t even pass for 90ā€™s chunkies, even chunkies had a placement purpose.

Yes, your hair stretches when itā€™s wet, itā€™s why I always suggest long hair enthusiasts have trims done dry so the requested amount of hair isnā€™t misjudged when itā€™s in its wet state.

From a physics standpoint point which is stronger the tree trunk or the tree limbs? When the hair starts to split and branch off thatā€™s what weakens it and allows for environmental and friction damage to continue. By trimming the ends blunt it creates a stronger strand that enforces itself against the daily stress put upon it.
But hey not everyone gets it so you do youšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Which is actually why your hair thins and breaks midshaft to ends. An actual healthy routine is to trim just the ends blunt every 10-12 weeks and youā€™ll notice it seems to grow faster.

Cold sore. Get and have some Abreva on hand at all times. If it becomes a chronic condition you can have your MD prescribe Valtrex.

Just get some of those pimple patches, they are absolute magic and clear up a breakout almost overnight.
