Oregon has everything and anything you could possibly want. Well, minus the politics thanks to the Portland crowd. The state itself though? Absolutely amazing. You have every conceivable type of environment you could possibly want to experience. We have mountains, beaches, rainforest, high mountain forest, eastern forest, dunes, deserts, salt flats, extinct and active volcanoes, plains, canyons, caves, rivers from huge ones down to tiny ones, I can’t actually think of an environment that Oregon can’t offer. We still have 4 distinct seasons and moderate weather. We have little to no natural disasters occurring in a regular basis. Wildlife is plentiful. We have millions of acres of PUBLIC LAND. A huge benefit to us Oregonians and one I think most people take for granted. Many areas in the country have little to no public land. The two biggest problems from my perspective are, number 1… the homeless problem. It really has become a problem and we owe our thanks to the government, both local and national, for that. Number 2… we are connected to California. Unfortunately there isn’t much to be done about this until we can get a wall built to keep them down south😉. I maybe wouldn’t mind them so much if they didn’t continuously move up here to Oregon and bring with them their California ideals and policies and political stances. Those ones need to stay in Cali, we don’t want you. This also applies to Oregon immigrants from other states as well…. Don’t be a Californian. If you wanna live in Oregon, come, but be an Oregonian

In my experience people do lots of stupid things for no apparent reason. I don’t have any issues with people doing it I guess, it just serves absolutely zero purpose is all. Kinda silly. It’s not like you can do anything with that info except maybe go look it up on PSA and check the population count and verify the card is in fact certified. Just a waste of time and energy to black em out

The UK gentleman is correct. Poles are for strippers. Rods are for fishers. The wire half loop just above your handle grips is indeed a hook anchor point. That being said, regardless of what is being said, I still use the guides for anchor points when needed as well. Are you supposed to, nah not so much. However I have been a die hard fisherman to the lengths most folks will never even approach. I fish salmon and steelhead mostly with beefy rods and big hooks and can honestly say I have never, in over 20 years of hardcore fishing from boats and from brush choked rocky river banks and from steep and deep canyons, not ever broken a guide or an insert from using it as a hook retention point. Just saying. Mileage may vary I guess, if we are talking about some slim little fruity fly rod,
