However, Dawie Scholz indicated a short while ago that turnout is far lower than we anticipated yesterday (i.e. long queues probably bamboozled us). Projections are lower than the dismal 66% in 2019.

It's much easier to process so most stations use three separate boxes, but many don't and it appears there's possibly no standard.

Even that isn't allowed anymore so OP's mum got lucky here. To vote outside your registered location, even for a national ballot, the IEC changed the rule this year so you'd have to register to vote for that too.

I don't get why they're so relentless. Surely they must think about how annoying it might be for a potential voter to get spammed like that, especially this close to the election.
Is this any different to purchasing a fast-pass at an amusement park? If anything it's worse because people who come in expecting service (you know, as a paying customer) unknowingly get shafted because other people have paid to be served first.
