Even when you take it on the plane you’re supposed to declare it and pay the same fees. I guess you could try and avoid the customs but I’ve never tried that.

Orders from both websites and I’m French I always had to pay VAT and duties except once for a replacement kakwa pack. So it doesn’t matter which one you buy from. But as stated in another comment the regular xmid is only on kaviso for now.

It’s really nice and grippy (especially on rocks). So far they seem durable and firm. After about 300km in those the outsoles are still like new. They’re not made with a soft foam like in the lone peaks or other altras for example so I expect them to last longer and they shouldn’t compress too much over time. At first they were very rigid but after a few kms it was perfect.

Tried all of the suggestions you had. Hated the superior and the pursuit. Now I have a pair lems primal pursuit and I really enjoy them. Not too minimalist and so far they seem durable. Ground feel is nice but a pointy stone won’t hurt your foot.

I’m talking about the tarp not the tent. It’s a different product. Plenty of space solo. I even used it a few times with my partner.

I don’t know about all countries but in France I’ve done many multi days trips with a tent. There’s many GR like the GR54 in France that does a multi day loop and you can easily sleep near the trail as long as you pitch your shelter at the very end of the day and leave early. There’s a few areas where it’s forbidden in summer due to too many people visiting but it’s rare so you have to check before. GRs are usually very well marked and they cross some villages and water sources quite often so no need to take huge amounts of food. I can recommend you some GR that I’ve done if you’re interested just PM me. :)

Xmid is the easiest to pitch. Out of the 3 tents I'd get this one. That being said decathlon are selling a great lightweight tarp (mt900 tarp) it's cheap, you can cowboy camp when the weather is nice and set it up as a great A frame shelter if you expect rain or to block the wind. Just use a sheet of polycryo for the floor and you're good to go.

spent most of my hiking life in the alps and weather can change very fast in summer. A tent or at least a tarp can really save the day. Last year in august we had a huge hail storm at the end of a very sunny day.

I use a Patagonia stretch shirt and so far so good. Keeps me protected and I can easily open it and roll up the sleeves if I want. With that, I plan to buy the new palante sun hat that should be available for eu retailer in a few days. I'll use both for the camino starting next month.

Agreed I like that they are so secretive. Once it’s ready they’ll release it and we will probably be blown away!

When I do this I use 6 panels of a memo switchback or a thinlight cut in half. They are nice to put inside the pack against the back and I usually have enough space left. I find that a torso length of a pad si enough for me to sleep well so I don't need to strap the other half on my pack.

Own the same powerbank and they really charge in around 90min with the nano 30w charger. It’s a game changer for us.

I don't think that you can go wrong. Might not be the most durable though but for the price it's hard to complain haha !

Dd superlight tarp Is awesome but heavier than the decathlon one and more expensive, very hard to beat the decathlon one of a cheap and light tarp. Also, everything Is included, cordages and stakes (great quality ones too) so it's a great deal imo.

Haha yeah I saw that but I guess it doesn't work for everybody! I'm not using deodorant while hiking so it doesn't help but well deodorant is too heavy :D

Like mentioned in another comment, they now use 100% recycled polyester. Maybe that’s why some people say it stinks? I do have a Patagonia sun stretch shirt made out of a blend of nylon and poly and it indeed seems to stink a bit less than my Columbia. 

I checked Columbia’s website and yours seems to be made out of the same fabric as mine. 100% recycled polyester. At least the ones that they are selling now. I’ve heard people saying that they were made out of nylon but doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Not sure if nylon vs polyester makes a big difference though. I do have a Patagonia sun stretch shirt made out of a blend of nylon and t400 polyester and it seems to be doing a bit better.
