I don’t think the TCM remake is good. I found it to be pretty subpar

Meh, I find the characters and the story of part 5 to be pretty terrible. Part 7 sure had stereotypical characters, but it was kind of fun to see a Friday the 13th movie go extra stereotypical. And I like Tina, she’s one of the better characters of the series. Maybe I just don’t jive with Danny Steinman, but I found Part 5 is pretty pretty irritating.

At least Part 7 had Kane Hodder who adds so much personality to the character. I don’t know what other Jasons do better aside from Derek Mears; he’s basically an improved version of CJ Graham.

Yeah this is the best slasher remake for sure. I cannot think of a better one

The ambiguity of it is what I love about it. Although I will say that it clearly is intentional that he gets hit by the bullets, because he recoils. The ending is the best in horror cinema, and it really nails the point home for the ambiguity while also leaving you to feel like Michael Myers is still out there. It's so effective.

Second favorite Jason. Love his sackhead look, although I am not huge on the jacket with the mask. It's like I'm watching Rambo as Jason killing annoying teens we want to see die, and it's glorious.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

Black Christmas (1974)

Maniac (1980)

The Prowler (1981)

My Bloody Valentine (1981)

The Burning (1981)

Just Before Dawn (1981)

House on Sorority Row (1982)

Scream (1996)

Green Room (2015)

X (2022)

Yeah, the only reason I can is because of YouTube. I do not have enough interest to rewatch them 20 times except for the Final Chapter.

Yeah it's one of my least favorites. It is the filler episode of the series. I only watch it if I want to watch the story of the series, but never by itself. It's the most mid slasher of all time, as it has all of the dumb clichés, and it makes the film weirdly watchable since you are seeing what all of the parody movies make fun of with slasher movies. And when I am in the mood for an F13 movie, I only watch one or two of them, so I generally skip part 3.

I never said that, I just said that it wasn't the case with me.

Don’t worry about it. Your memory should not determine fan status. Also Friday the 13th films blend together for a lot of people. The only reason I remember Friday the 13th films individually is because of how much the quality varies in the series.

Being smart is an idiom that means snarky, not the intelligence level of the person. I just don't get why people say it has the same vibe. I don't remember the original four movies looking like a porno. I don't understand why you can like part 3 and 5, but not Part 7, as Part 7 has Kane Hodder and is more entertaining than those movies.

The latter isn't good, but it's not bad either. It's somewhere in the middle. Part 5 is outright bad. Good thing Part 6 saved this series. Part 7 is a lot of fun with the best Jason in the series. Part 5 is not fun at all.

I was just being smart. You didn't clarify which specifically you were referring to. And “they turned this whole series into a joke" fits way better for Part 5 than Part 7, which makes it really funny.

This is a long list:

Black Christmas (1974)

Alice, Sweet Alice (1977)

Don't Torture a Duckling (1972)

Deep Red (1975)

My Bloody Valentine (1981)

Maniac (1980)

The Burning (1981)

The Funhouse (1981)

The Prowler (1981)

Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981)

Just Before Dawn (1981)

Basket Case (1982)

House on Sorority Row (1982)

Night of the Comet (1984)

Phenomena (1985)

Lifeforce (1985)

Return of the Living Dead (1985)

Chopping Mall (1986)

Henry Portrait of Serial Killer (1986)

The Stepfather (1987)

Opera (1987)

Maniac Cop (1988)

Intruder (1989)

I totally agree with that. Finally someone understands that Part 5 “turned this whole series into a joke.” And Part 6 did the joke way funnier, and Part 7 brought it back to form.

The fake Jason was just executed poorly. I literally cannot remember a kill from this movie, except for maybe the shears. And yeah, Jason is a mysterious character that doesn't talk and has an ambiguous backstory, of course he's better than Roy, who is just Mrs. Voorhees without the excellent Betsy Palmer performance or craziness.

And I consider a classic Friday the 13th vibe to be a horror film, not a film with no sense of atmosphere at all. It does not feel like part 1, 2, 3, or 4 at all. At least Part 7 has an awesome, oppressive atmosphere (probably because it was ripping off the Final Chapter) while part 5 is basically a sex comedy with murder. But it's not even a good sex comedy with one of the worst casts in the series.

It's funny because it seems like what people think is racist and what is racist are flipped.

Better than fake Jason with the most annoying characters in the series. At least it has Kane Hodder, and one of the better final girls.

Not really, Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween are among the first films I saw.

Part 7 is way better than Part 5.

Ginny is great. Although Part 2 sort of has a plot. It's the same one as the original, but the characters are more fleshed out. Part 5 is not good.

I actually don't really like most of the franchise. I only really like Part 2, 4, 6, 7 and the remake. I will watch part 3, but it feels like a mediocre season of TV you sort of enjoy, but are only really watching it to get to the next season.

Well a lot of people have different tastes in horror and some find jump scares to be cheap.
