Thank God. I read SpyXFamily as a cool down from all my other, significantly more depressing manga. So while this arc was good on a practical level I've been looking forward to going back to happier subject matter, especially that juicy cliffhanger.

It's referred to in-universe as "The summit war", "The paramount war", and "The war of the best"

I think it'll be Kuma dying. He's got nothing left to do in the story in his current state and ending the arc on an emotional gut punch would certainly fit the bill of an upheaval.

I hope I'm wrong though, let him have something nice happen to him after all he's been through

Most anime wars are ridiculously short and small scale. Marineford is one battle to use an example.

The only one I can think of that actually lasts a decent amount of time is MHA's endgame, which involved two major battles separated by a period of smaller battles and guerilla warfare. And even then it lasted about a month.

"He was a gamer!"

You're supposed to be saying good things about him Spinner, not digging his grave further.

Miquella was a Narcissist with a savior complex all along! His noble intentions were never anything more than his bloated Ego fed by all the mind controlled yes-men!

Hold on, Scadutree Avatar above Mesmer? Or Rellana?

Feels a bit off

Deku gets one mention during the final Toga fight.

If that was all she was Toga wouldn't exist. Having a personal villain that she faces down with equal prominence to Dabi which while paralleling the MC and big bad are ultimately separated is leaps and bounds ahead of Hinata.

Are we just ignoring the speech after the Dark Hero arc? Or the conversation before the war? I'd say those were pretty strong relationship building moments between them.

"Why hasn’t Uraraka been allowed to say anything that wasn’t Deku-related since the sports festival?" Is just blatantly false. Her reluctance to aid in the Bakugo rescue because of what she thinks he would want,  her guilt at being unable to save Nighteye, her despair at the aftermath of Machia's rampage, and the Toga subplot with Toga had less and less to do with Deku over time, until in the final fight he gets a single offhand mention.

"Other couples/ships.... Momo and Todoroki". You've been reading too much fanfiction. They had a couple interactions, and those were good character interactions, but nothing about those spoke to anything romantic. Hell, I really like Kirishima/Ashido but I will be the first to admit that there isn't that much evidence for them being romantically paired in the same way that Midoriya/Uraraka or Kaminari/Jiro are. If we got a Naruto style flashforward and those ended up being couples I wouldn't be surprised, but from what we have right now I feel like putting them as a concrete couple isn't correct.

"Aside from just characterization, they really are treated as ditzy, air-headed objects of desire" by who? Mineta? I struggle to think of any of the girls that match this description, if anything we've got more calm, stoic girls than we've got airheads, the only one that comes to mind is Nejire.

I won't be playing Gestalt until the end of the month because I'm out of the country :(

Uraraka looks a bit odd in this one. It's to be expected, this was before Hori had ironed out his style and I don't think she'd even show up for another few weeks

Does this mean no new music for I was really hoping we'd get some evolving music as he

Did we just forget that All For One obliterated Shigaraki's consciousness, permanently stealing his body? Shigaraki was already dead, and the only reason the remnants of him were able to rise against All For One was because the remnants of the seventh helped him hold on.

Deku clearly feels bad about destroying Shigaraki along with All For One because of course he does, he's a nice kid. And Spinner is obviously biased in this as Shigaraki's #1 fan. But at the end of the day the person Deku punched into dust in 423 was All For One, and Deku killing him to stop him from snatching his body was completely justified.

Still murders people, so not good. He's just the sympathetic kind of evil.

Earlier in the story before he goes murder happy he certainly counts though.

He has a ridiculously strong close range weapon: Sucking out their mana with Ali. He just doesn't use it very much because we haven't really gotten Demon vs. Demon fights very often.

That does raise the question of how the final arc is going to go. Baal needs to be foiled, he has a right hand man and a quirky miniboss squad. This seems to be your standard Shonen villain setup for a series of fights, but the series has been a avoiding proper shonen fights as you pointed out. Wonder how that's going to go

Ranni spends most of the game sitting passively and telling you what to do with flowery speeches.

Igon is right out there fighting Bayle with you while screaming like a lunatic.

We all know which one is superior.

All Might and his two greatest students are united by one thing: They are all completely unhinged and I love it.

Needs pointing out that he's also a 3/4 flyer for 3 mana.

Remember when great abilities meant the creature had to have bad stats? Peperidge farm remembers

Ehhh, kinda? It's not been said, but from how events unfolded it looks like Shigaraki's body would have been fine, albeit severely damaged, if All For One hadn't hijacked it, started warping it with Omni-factor unleash, tanked a bunch of damage, and then taken a full-power OFA punch to his face.

Uraraka once again being left out of the big fight, first the final push against AFO and now this?

Hopefully my theory of her levitating the giant fortress when it falls out of the sky, because they always do, is true so she gets a win.

Bonney has nowhere else to go, has been given moments with the crew throughout egghead, her dad views Luffy as the hope for the world, and she literally just turned into another nika. Maybe it's just another round of copium but she seems like a pretty strong candidate for the next straw hat.
