Qimir may be Imri Cantaros. I only read a few high republic books but he was her padawan and he is a former Jedi from a very long time ago. She was 16 when she became his master.

I don’t know his backstory or if he was killed during the high republic books. I’m sure someone will destroy me for being wrong if it’s not him. But when I read your comment I remembered she had a padawan she didn’t really want and was pushed on her kind of like Obi wan with Anakin.
