TNF Strombreak 2... Been using it for several years, in heavy rain and it never failed me. The height is around 40 inches and 7 feet in lenght. I also like that it has 2 huge vestibules to keep your bags and shoes safe and dry. Also it has great ventilation when both side are slightly open.

Does it still have its head? It’s unclear from that picture?

You have to be more precise.

Not planning to stop at all. My habits improved by not going there anymore. No reason to change back.

Vacuum sealing this kind of food will not make it stay good longer than keeping in a Tupperware and it still has to be kept cold. I’m also assuming you’re talking about those plastic seal bags.

Most people are confusing vacuum sealing with canning. You can keep canned food for years if stored properly in a cold room.

You’re over thinking this mate.

Does it stay place and keeps the tension? If yes, you’re doing it correctly.

A normal air mattress, like those several inches thick that are imitating house mattress wont do it in winter. Air has no insulation.

You want a dense foam pad. Or make sure you check the R-value.

For your sleeping bag and sleeping pad, you should go in an outdoor store. Avoid cheap online crap. Like anything from Temu should be avoided.

No tent with 4 rooms will be good for winter camping. Or at a reasonable price.

Why the need for 4 room tho?

And what does this have to do with “camping and hiking”?

Or are you just a spam bot?

It really depends on how you plan to use it.

I like the Katadyn Hiker Pro. I filter 1L of water in about 2mins max. But it requires lots of pumping. Some people prefer gravity filter but they take a lot longer to filter water and you have to be at camp or at least stop hiking to let the water filter. Can’t rush a gravity filters.

Both gravity and pump are great. Filtering has come a long way in the last 20 years. You just have to think what would work best for you.

You asked a question that required a geologist or maybe a chemist in a camping space. Don’t be surprised if people didn’t answer your question “the way you expected”

I also do not see negativity or anger here. Just people being honest. Your 2nd edit is not nice to people who actually took the time to answer. This is most likely why you’re starting to hoard downvotes with this post.

I haven’t tried any of those 2 but they are all similar imo. 55CAD is not expensive for those. I used to have Woods chair like those and it lasted me over 5 years.

Yeah same, i have a master sheet with all of my gear on it and then i copy paste what i need for my trip.

I also find it very relaxing to do lol

Just to keep tab of what i have. To easily see the cheaper gear for future replacement... i guess it’s also OCD thing.

It’s bulky for its cold rating but oh so comfortable. And very inexpensive. I got it during a sale for 75$CAD.

I do not regret it at all.

I use google sheets for my list. I will print it if i can’t have my laptop close by when i pack.

That filter looks good. Did you clean it with a javel solution before storing it? And was it dry? If yes to both, this filter is good to be used. I used mine for like 8 years before i replaced the filter.

That’s a Katadyn Hiker pro cartridge.. much better than a sawyer squeeze. I would never replace a Katadyn for a sawyer lol.

Look for used gear on marketplace and alike. Otherwise you won't go very far with 100$ if you're looking for new gear.

I would say you need a tent, sleeping pad (or inflatable matress you might have at home), sleeping bag (or blankets) and a flashlight. Maybe a cooler to keep your food. Other than that, you can get away with things you probably already have at home.
