Whenever I make a trade routes, it just decides to make it come from a different countrys market. Specifically the Dutch East Indies. So when I make an import deal, it imports it to the East Indies, not my market. I am Germany and while the DEI are in my bloc that is the extent of my involvement with them. It will not let me make any other trade routes and cancelled all my old ones, and when an AI tries to make one with me it redirects to the East Indies instead. How do I fix this? It practically ruined the campaign as no one wants a trade deal w me anymore due to no active trade routes, significantly crippling my leverage advantage over them. Help
wow lucky lol, I wish I could do that. Sorry for snapping at you initially, this thread is just so absurd and queerphobic for no reason so I missed the joke and assumed the worst lol
I live in Ohio, just nextdoor to PA. My family are nazis (not an exageration they defend Hitler) and I have to hide everything from them, also Walmart surprisingly pays less here, and it isn't even close to enough to afford rent. I'm only gonna be able to move out because I plan on going to college out of state, and during my time in college I plan on making enough connections to where I can hopefully stay in that state and not have to come back again
Also lmao sorry I missed the joke there. A lot of people in this thread are saying some wild stuff so I just assumed it was serious lmao mb
Dude if you aren't going to read what i say you have no right to respond I am not repeating myself again you are missing the point completely and have no clue what Im even saying ebcause you wont read it, seriously I think youre just trolling me now
So you, didn't read it all? This is genuinely confusing because if you had simply read it you wouldn't be saying this. But I'll say it again, I guess. Actually speak to people in the community. Stop stereotyping people. I genuinely do not even know many if any queer people irl who dye their hair unnatural colors. I know more non queer people who do that actually. This is a stereotype imposed upon them by people who hate them and want to mock them. If you spent any time actually talking to queer people you would realize this. I'm sorry we have a bad stereotype against us? This is a weird thing for you to get mad at us over I mean every group has stereotypes. This is such a weird thing for you to care about
I'm 17. I cannot move, because I am a minor. I definately plan on doing so once I can, but I have been waiting for roughly 4 years and am still waiting. The fact that anyone has to go through this is a crime which we should be fighting, not putting down the movements against it because there are some bad people.
Did you, forget what sub this is? I'm 17 I cannot simply move away. And even then moving is expensive, while I fully plan on moving I recognize many people cannot bc of the financial cost of it. And even if everyone could simply afford to a more accepting place (keeping in mind progressive areas tend to be cities, which are much more expensive to live in compared to rural Ohio made up of mostly poor people), minors cannot move. Minors here will have to live in these awful conditions along a society that hates them. You are advocating for the suffering of LGBT people on the basis of them being not adults and/or poor. Here's a counter idea, we just, have human rights. And we don't allow states to get rid of human rights. It's really that simple. This is like telling an african american person in the 1950s to just "move to the north, maybe not every state should have civil rights, gotta have somewhere for the racists to be" as if we shouldn't just fight against racism's existence by default.
I also live in the US, in this part of the country to say you are gay would make most people here hate you and say mean things if youre lucky. And I'm not from the south I'm from Ohio, a 'swing' state
This is a literal stereotype. Idek many people who have died their hair tbh. You can't get mad at a marginalized group of people over a stereotype that was imposed upon them, and if the other people jump to said stereotype then chances are they are an asshole who is probably convinced asexuality isn't even real in the first place, as many non queer allies genuinely believe (and non queer allies are gonna be the only ones buying into this stereotype. I genuinely know more cishet people who dye their hair unnatural colors than queer people)
ok? Im sorry there are LGBT people that make you uncomfortable but if you'd make an attempt to engage in the community people are actually very chill. I mean these people are the ones who are trying to normalize people like you, and yet you are attacking them? And on what basis even, they are just different from you and therefore you don't like it? This is literally what you say here. And I would like to point out that there are plenty of straight people who make being straight a huge part of their personality, my dad is constatnly talking about women he finds attractive ad nauseum when it isn't even relevant. Yet I see absolutely no one call out people like this, ever. Instead you choose to attack people who are just trying to express themselves in a society which is actively hostile to them at every turn.
"achieved long ago" how self absorbed do you have to be to claim this. I'm glad it's fine wherever you are but where I live laws are being passed to criminalize my very existence. I live in fear and have to carefully micromanage my entire fucking life just to make sure no one who would hurt me over it finds out about my identity, at least until I can move away. And I don't live in some distant country in Asia, I live in fucking Ohio. We have just begun to actually have rights and I'm sorry a few occasional problematic people make pride an uncomfortable thing for you, but I am glad there are people who can and do go out in public completely honest about themselves and are proud about it. That is incredibly scary thing to me, but the fact people can do that somewhere gives me hope. I don't care about whatever small 1% of people that are problematic, I just care that there are people like me who aren't afraid and can show the world that.
Yes it succeeded, that's why my state outlawed my existence from public spaces and I can go to jail for not conforming. You are so entitled and ignorant for saying this and people like you is why people like me fear for my life for having the audacity to exist.
Notch is only recently bigoted, since selling Minecraft he became alt right but before then was more publicly supportive (funny how gaining immense wealth does that to people).
And Steve can be gender neutral! It can be short for Steven, a masculine name, or Stevie, a feminine one. I have a cousin named Stevie actually. I'm not too sure if Steve really was meant to be gender neutral, after all the original skin was taken from another game Notch made and has much more masculine traits than fem, but it's still true that it's a neutral name and that there is no cannon gender! Even all the new default skins are completely neutral!
I picked saxophone bc I already play it, just not well 😎
"Stasi state or Socialist Paradise" is the name. Excellent book and gives so much insight into the actual everyday life in East Germany. I second this suggestion
Listen to other pianists whom you like the sound of. Really listen to their improv and take note of what you like and try to replicate it. Learning by ear does help a lot, and at first it can be slow and daunting but once you get the hang of it it starts being more fun.
Practice a lot of technical stuff. Learn every major scale, then every minor scale, then the modes of the major scale. Then learn major arpeggios up to the 13, then minor arpeggios, and so on. The pentatonic scale, minor blues scale, harmonic minor scale, the diminished scales, whole tone scale, and melodic minor scale are all ones you should learn as well. Then arpeggios for all of those also to the 13. When you do this you are building muscle memory and hopefully taking note of the sounds of all of these. When you practice the minor blues scale in all 12 keys you will be able to hear and point out a b5 far easier and will have the sound of a b5 in your head for example, and can also get the sounds in your head and be able to play them instantly.
Learn basic chord progressions, the 12 bar blues is a great place to start and is incredibly common. Check out Watermelon Man by Herbie Hancock, it's one of my favorite songs with a 12 bar blues (well technically it's 16 bars but it's the same exact pattern just extended at the end). Freddie Freeloader by the Miles Davis Quintet also uses the 12 bar blues in a different way, and has an amazing solo by Wynton Kelly. Backing tracks on YouTube are easy to find, pick on using the 12 bar blues that you like and play along and improvise. Don't overthink it, just play. Come up with a simple melodic line and just repeat it, and make variations and embellishments and responses to it. There is nothing wrong with repetition, repetition creates cohesion. Repetition is generally good so if you play something you like don't be afraid to keep playing it. Just play and don't overthink, when speaking you aren't overthinking every word you say and how, you just do. Treat playing music the same way. And most importantly, have fun.
As a bonus, if you can try to play with other musicians also. Improvising with other people is also really special and helps a lot more than YouTube backing tracks.
A lot of those reviews are older, the game used to kinda suck. Recent steam reviews are positive. For me the game only really became playable w the new DLC, at least for the long term, since most countries feel very samey. The added geopolitical depth really helps this though for me
The role of the police is to enforce the role of the State and specifically the class interests of it. Under capitalism this means the police uphold the supremacy of the capitalists and the role of private property. In a Socialist state then the police would still have a place so long as the class interests of the proletariat, who are the new and recent ruling class, needs protecting. Under Capitalism, the ruling class must always need protected and upheld as the working class cannot go away in any capacity, and thus can always threaten the ruling class. But when the roles are reversed under Socialism, the bourgeoisie are not needed as a class and thus at some point will go away completely, leaving only workers. The police would exist for as long as it is needed, which probably wouldn't be very long. The police institution thereafter would, theoretically, only focus on threats from the external bourgeoisie, counter revolutionary activity, and maybe other extreme crimes. We cannot forsee the specifics here since we won't know the exact material circumstances of this future Socialist state, but I think you're on the right track with the increased reliance on EMTs, social workers, and overall rehabilitation.
As for the military, well the military has the same role as the police except they do so abroad in other countries instead of domestically. So while the police only need to exist while the class rule of the proletariat is under threat by internal class struggle, the military is a necessity until the class rule of the proletariat is not under threat by foreign bourgeois interests. In other words, until at least most countries are also socialist. The socialist military however would not be upholding the class will of the bourgeoisie abroad, but the proletariat's. So any interference with foreign countries would be limited to supporting revolutionary struggles, helping socialist countries defend against the bourgeoisie, etc. So it would be an entirely different institution, and wouldn't be the criminal organization we know today. We see this historically with the USSR, who used their military to either defeat fascists or aid revolutionary struggles abroad first and foremost. Or China's military today who does not get involved in foreign revolutionary struggles, and as a result doesn't really do much compared to the US, who is always involved in some conflict.
So in short, the institutions of the police and military would radically change under a socialist State, and wouldn't be necessary forever while under capitalism these institutions must be present forever as there will always be class conflict under capitalism. Further, the institutions would behave very differently, and wouldn't be nearly as evil as they are under capitalism. So they aren't always necessary, nor necessarily evil.
I never said it made sense as a viewpoint, it's quite silly. But this gets discussed a lot and people never seem to have any idea why someoen could be saying this so I just wanted to give my thoughts and perspective as to why this may be. And yeah I know trans men can be just as toxic as cis men and not all cis men are toxic, like I said it's silly but this is probably the thought process they are going through.
yeah i get that Im not at all defending this, just a lot of people act like they have no idea where this could be coming from so I just wanted to give my thoughts
I don't hate it but it's pretty underwhelming for me, which is ironic bc it was the first fallout game I ever played. The story is just ok, the characters are alright, the companions are awful for the most part, the main thing going for it is the great side locations. They're all so creative and unique, and FO3 is not afraid to hide them either, with the main quest taking place almost entirely in the south of the map and all the fun locations being in the north. The DLC are also quite fun if not really short and a bit pointless. Future games really refined 3D Fallout and now 3 is just a bit underwhelming. Playing 1 and 2 recently also really kinda soured my opinion of 3 even more because of how much of it is just recycled elements of those games without much innovation. Every element of the world building and main quest plot is just ripped from those games, to the point where it feels almost like a fan game. I'm not sure if BGS was just afraid their original content couldn't compete w the classic stuff so put it in for fan service or what, but the more original and creative stuff far overshadows all the copy pasted stuff from 1 and 2.
So for me personally there's just not a ton that makes FO3 particularly note worthy outside of being the first fallout game in 3D and the great side locations. For me I have more fun playing Fallout 3 when Im just aimlessly exploring and finding cool things, but now I've seen most of what there is to see, but man initially exploring the world and finding all the cool stuff was really cool. But every other aspect is just underwhelming and is done far better in every other game.
However I will say no other game captures that same kind of adventurous exploration that 3 had, with New Vegas having a much more centralized story and side quests usually being faction quests and 4 having all the big side quests extremely easy to find, not leaving much more to find other than dungeons which aren't nearly as cool as in 3.
I mean, people who hate all men don't just do it for the sake of it, they do it because men come from a place of power and privelage in society. The patriarchy excludes trans men for the most part, and even so trans men are much more conscious about it having experienced how women are treated directly for some amount of time. So like for someone who hates all men I could totally understand why trans men are excluded, men are an oppressive group and trans people are an oppressed minority, so if the hate is directed to their oppressive status most trans men probably apply.
Not defending it it's still a silly worldview don't get me wrong but it doesn't have to be completely transphobic. Unless there is something I am missing.
This heavily depends on what you want to study and where you live. Going to a college in your state will be a lot cheaper than one out of state, so only try to go out of state if your current state has really bad LGBT laws. In general though I find that LGBT friendly colleges usually always advertise it and are transparent about it. If the college's website shows off LGBT people at all (or POC, if POC are prominantly featured that usually always means its a progressive school which means it also is LGBT friendly) then it's a good pick. Colleges in large cities tend to be progressive much more, and big cities also always have a more active LGBT community than in less urban areas, so definitely look out for that as well.
Google "solidarity." There is a difference between criticizing a group and actively denouncing them bc you find some of them "weird"
