New homeowner here and I keep eyeing the $10 shovels, but I wonder if they’re worth it?
Has anyone bought a shovel in years past? Can you attest to its quality/longevity?
Thanks!
You can get a 2 bedroom apartment near the airport in St Paul off Shephard for $1500. Check the StuartCo apartments. Solid apartments, great management. Good spot close to lots of things
I just this too, right after MOHELA and StudentAid show $0 in my consolidation process, so I am assuming the same.
We do Allthehealthy things’s eggroll in a bowl with 2 lbs pork and 2 cole slaw bags and it feeds us (2 adults) for 3 meals. We actually always cook for 3 meals, so we just double what we make each time.
Budget Bytes’ teriyaki meatballs and bbq meatballs are great for leftovers. We do extra seasoning for the bbq ones for more flavor with less sauce (we just google a bbq dry rub mix and use that).
Pinch of Yum’s harissa chickpeas is great for leftovers.
Oh fun! Very moody! I ended up with a lot of pink/red/apricot vibes with some purple blazing star (purple) to balance so I’m curious to see how I like it all grown in!
I feel validated in my picture taking haha
I inherited tons of hostas (like split and gave good clumps away to TEN people) in this flower bed and if they end up not being awesome, I’m interested in the coral bells for a moodier & more colorful similar plant!! I’m learning so much!
Just planted my first ever perennial flower bed and I’m beyond excited about it. Going for English cottage garden vibes. Husband is not excited and I need someone to be hyped with me 😂 I keep googling the flowers I planted so I can see them 😂😂😂
Check out Highland Park in St. Paul. There’s a bunch of solid apartments from Stuartco down by West 7th.
(I also DO christmas cookies, though, so it’s an already established habit/skill/known thing I do)
I closed Dec 1 which was also my grading day after semester finals, so naturally at 7 AM I decided to bake thank you Christmas cookies because there is NO WAY I was going to focus on grading before closing in the afternoon. 😂
It was fun to give out the first cookies of the season!
A student told me about this. RFK is all over TikTok, that’s why they’re obsessed with him 😬
A large number of these people HAVE fulfilled their contract in the PSLF program and these swaths of “forgiveness” are the adjustments that have made the program function. The way media/Democrats/Biden frames this is very misleading.
You could give them a story or news article to read day 1, socratic seminar day 2. Super easy to grade based on student argumentation, support with evidence, and general participation. Use “On the Rainy River” from The Things They Carried and prep questions based on shame and tradition. ETA: I see you’re talking middle school so that story is too mature.
Yes! Anything south of downtown is considered South, though I feel like I would consider South more Powderhorn and below, but that was also my first neighborhood in Mpls so I’m biased haha.
If you want to stay in Mpls, check out apartments in south Mpls, like in the Powderhorn or Whittier neighborhoods. Generally safe-ish, if you’re aware of yourself. They should be more affordable and have access to things like you want.
I lived in Highland Park for almost a decade and loved it — and was surprised at how affordable apartments were over there, comparatively speaking. Suuuuper close to parks, some solid restaurants, easy to get anywhere in Mpls or St. Paul.
This happened to us, but it was like 400 sq ft difference during our inspection & measurement. (Not appraisal) so we negotiated back down a little bit for that and installing radon, and they had to fix gas leaks in the basement.
I’ve got that HSE bbq chicken recipe on my schedule, too! Looks great!
My Aldi has had full-sized shovels, hoes, and garden rakes for weeks! They’re down to the last few now.

We went through a broker and got Auto Owners. My retired insurance agent Mom really likes them as both an agent and a client.
Thanks! Those were just denied forgiveness with the other batch so I wasn’t sure if it would need a fresh application after consolidating or if some retroactive forgiveness would apply.
Okay, so I want to verify my thinking is correct because I didn’t know about the consolidation deal under the extended waiver.
I received PSLF this month on my undergrad loans, minus one FFEL. I had never applied for the program because I had received the 5 yr forgiveness years ago and thought I couldn’t do both, but that was applied to only some of my many loans and not these remaining so woohoo! A great surprise!
However, I just found this sub today and learned about the consolidation deal for grad loans to be granted your longest payment. So I just applied to consolidate those two grad loans with that one undergrad FFEL loan (hoping I got lucky that that one was previously excluded!!).
In my thinking/understanding, that consolidation should credit me the 131 months of repayment I had on the undergrad ones previously forgiven, because the FFEL is that old, too, right? Just in case, I also applied for a reconsideration citing my lack of knowledge on the consolidation waiver extension.
Will I have to reapply for a fresh PSLF after the freeze?
This was us last weekend! We bought our house in the winter so we are now learning the warm weather things. A whole army showed up in the basement for the dropped kitty kibble. We did some ant traps plus an injector poison food thing along where we saw them outside and sprayed the perimeter with a vinegar/peppermint oil/water mix. Hopefully that takes care of all of it!
Some of my older colleagues mentioned there used to be support staff to help with grading and paperwork back in the early 90s. That sure would help with all the essays!
