I’m the GM of my property. We are in the midst of a switch in PMS systems. We currently use Jonas Chorum and we are switching to Choice Advantage in late summer/early fall. This is the only hotel I’ve ever worked at but my boss keeps complaining about Choice Advantage and how he’s not thrilled about the switch.

Unfortunately, my management company is really bad about training when we get new systems. Sometimes they just spring changes on us with no prior warning and other times we have plenty of warning but they don’t provide proper training. We just switched our payroll processor from Paychex Flex to Invoa and the lack of training has been a nightmare for the entire company at the property level. Since I will essentially be training my entire front desk staff on CA, I’m just wondering how different, easy/difficult the switch is going to be.

Also, does Choice Advantage have the ability to convert a pre-auth/hold to an actual charge? Because I think it’s so effing stupid that Jonas doesn’t give us this option.
