Crank arm compatibility questions?

Hello all! I’m fairly new to mountain biking, I’ve been riding a few months now on my Fuse 27.5 with micro shift advent 9 speed and 170mm stout crank arms.

I’ve recently decided I want shorter crank arms but have some questions about compatibility issues/what all I need to buy.

So I guess my questions would be, can I just buy crank arms and keep my BB/chainring setup? If so how do I know what crank arms are compatible?

Or do I need to replace to whole set up cranks, BB, and chainring?

Yes indeed! I’m just across the river over in Indiana!

Eh.. takes two seconds.. I don’t mind it myself because I like the stability it provides. But I get not wanting to do it every time.. I also have a Kuat Sherpa for when I ride with groups or feeling lazy..

I use a boost mount on my tonneau cover. Honda Ridgeline 5.5 ft bed

Haha that’s awesome! Almost Twins!

Man unfortunately it looks like you just missed the big specialized discounts.. I just picked up a Fuse 27.5 for $950 and I’m loving it..

Just to prove Orange looks good on that here is my fuse with orange pedals

“What’s up Doc?” Nuff said.. can’t get better than that..

Glad to hear this!! Just bought one on sale for 60 Dollars off the specialized site!

39 and just finished a re-listen of all the OG books and just finished reading Murtagh.. Let them shame.. l like liking things!!

I hate to say it brother but there is absolutely no way that’s a 2021.. my 2020 looks way nicer/newer with much more up to date components..

I appreciate the insight.. I’m about 5 foot 7 myself and I currently ride a Sirrus X3 as my everyday pavement bike.. I feel like 27.5 sounds more appropriate.. the Components on the rockhoper were just much nicer but it’s sounds like the rock hopper isn’t what I want in a bike.

Help me choose please!Tech Help

Looking to buy my first mountain bike and I have an opportunity to buy a base Fuse 27.5 or a Rockhopper expert for around the same price. I have not rode a mountain bike since I was a kid but am a pretty confident and skilled rider on other bikes and a decent athlete all around. I live in the Ohio Indiana Kentucky area. Any suggestions on which bike would be best?

I have a 22 Sport. The interior is cloth but seems very durable.. it comes with lane assist and adaptive cruise which you can turn off(the lane assist at least).. the sport is the base model. Mine was priced at 32K but I had a trade and I talked them down a bit. The trunk in the bed has a lock on it!! I love my Truck so far!! Also the back seats are massive and fold up for plenty of gear space..
