I just think of it as Judas Priest, Deep Purple, and Blue Oyster Cult are household names that billions of people know of and have heard songs by. So even if those bands have released something that is not very well known at all, that hardly anyone in the world is aware of, I wouldn't consider it underground since the bands themselves are not remotely close to being underground.

Judas Priest, Deep Purple, and Blue Oyster Cult are all extremely well known bands. I don't think it makes any sense to consider any of their albums underground. Even if these particular albums of theirs are less well known than their most popular albums, they are more like 10 billion miles above ground than underground.

Pantera, Machine Head, Korn, Limp Bizkit, System of a Down, Papa Roach, Slayer, Mayhem, Sabaton, Ghost, Sleep Token.

I've never heard of them, and the name of the band does not pique my interest.

In some death metal bands the lyrics can be understood pretty easily. And for the ones where that isn't the case, you can look up the lyrics on the Metal Archives and read along. And then once you've done that and know the lyrics a bit you can understand them pretty well.

The Greatest Show On Earth is a boring song and one of the few songs on EFMB I don't care about.

I just listen with my ears and the sound of the music doesn't take control of my facial muscles.

I don't understand why people make faces when listening to metal songs. Seems weird to me.

Fellow non-spine breaker here. I love reading my thick mass market paperbacks carefully to avoid breaking the spine.

I hope they will keep the art style the same for Walk in Shadow when it is released as they have for the first 2 books in Kharkanas. I need a matching mass market paperback of that.

I love mass market paperbacks, but I more than that, I love taking great care of my mass market paperbacks and being very careful with them when reading them. That way they still look brand new, pristine, and unread when I am done with them and put them back on display on my shelves.

Maybe instead of telling people to sneeze less loudly, you should just sleep more soundly so sneezing won't wake you up.

Because a lot of people including myself dislike it.

Agreed. Their sound has slowly evolved over time, but it still sounds like the same band as The Phantom Agony. Most bands 8th album sounds more different stylistically than their 1st compared to Epica. We’ll just have to wait a little while and see if that stays true for #9. And more to the point of the main question, they do want to continue making music like the original sound. They don’t just do it because they know the fans want it.

If you want to know what any particular band’s subgenre is just look them up on the Metal Archives and then you’ll know.
