Now about crouching. It depends on the situation. Its definetly an option on close to mid range, since it makes spraying easier and can suprise your enemies, but on longer ranges its not worth it, because it makes you incredibly easy to hit and you dont gain that much from it.
On long range, try to strafe (walk sideways) in random ways to throw enemy aim off, make quick full stops, fire a bullet or three, then strafe again. Repeat until you kill them by a juicy headshot or just maiming their torso progressively.
Edit: practice this on practice range first, get some walking bots to appear and try to strafe at the same time as they do. When they stop, also try to stop and kill them, remember to only fire when not moving.
