We get one throwaway line and are supposed to just accept that yeah, this character from throughout the last 'x' amount of seasons is somebody they would willingly elect? People may hate me for this ... but not really. Imho the current arc (and Bond and Loid's flashback chapters) have been some of the strongest parts of the manga so far in terms of writing.
