I agree that boycotting is useful, but that doesn’t mean I think that anyone who doesn’t boycott something is a bad person. For example, if someone doesn’t want to buy Starbucks, I think that’s a decent way to show support. But if you start shitting on people for still going there, it’s weird and likely just going to push them away from your side.

Also, he said that he hadn’t seen proof that Kanye’s actions have caused antisemitic violence, but he said that when people tell him about how Kanye’s actions affect them, it’s important to believe them.

You might be right though, I’m not a big fan of this dude, so he might just be grifting off controversy or something, but the intro to his Vultures review seemed pretty fair to me. Kanye was probably my favorite artist before, but I’ve stopped listening to him in recent years because of the antisemitism, diddy shit, and the increasing allegations by women against him. But I still think reviewers should review artists, even if it means including an asterisk.

Honestly doesn’t it make sense for controversial media to be dissected? I assume you’re talking about his Kanye review. While I think vultures was honestly not that good, why shouldn’t a music reviewer review the music?

Big fan of modern west coast, sexy drill, Florida trap, Toronto trap, and a lot of non-lyrical underground artists. Youngboy is one of my most listened to rappers. Kendrick and Lupe are two of the only “lyrical” rappers that I can listen to for extended amounts of time without getting bored.

As a producer/engineer, the most important thing to me is that something SOUNDS good. Then, I care about shit I can relate to, like introspective lyrics and real-life shit. Lyrical rap is very good when done well, but a lot of it isn’t actually talking about much, and the stuff that IS often sounds boring.

As a big YB fan, my fav is probably Nobody Safe w him and rich the kid. Hated his collab with dababy though. Also Trust Fund Babies was trash despite loving rich the kid and Wayne.

I hear what you’re talking about, but it’s just a fairly generic melody, not something that someone would hear and say “this shit is copied”. They’re pretty different beats in style, with yours being a much more new Atlanta sound. Maybe add a little variation in your melody if it bothers you. Nice beat btw.

Cash Cobain and Chow Lee for sure. Literally got a whole pitchfork article about their horniness. Or Kevin Gates.

Had a few good songs, killed in self defense, and was one of the few rappers to accept and work with Lil Nas X when most of the industry was casting him aside because of his sexuality. He definitely said some rough homophobic shit at that one live show, but he seemed to be sorry about if and apologized multiple times. Really not a fan of his, but saying he’s “anti-lgbt” is a wild stretch.

Not a massive Jazmin Bean fan, but I ended up going to her concert with a friend and it was easily one of the best concerts I’ve been to, tied with Caroline Polachek and Young Nudy. This song is definitely not my favorite by her, but it’s listenable at the very least. To be considered worst song of all time, you gotta be at least “Dance Monkey” level bad.

When you end up cutting yourself off from others completely, it can be a lot harder to notice when you begin having internal mental issues. I’ve had times where I was overly social and reliant on others, but I’ve also had times where I’ve isolated myself for long periods of time and fallen into really dangerous lines of thinking without anyone to set me straight. Like with most things, it’s all about balance. As the other user said though, look into BPD a bit if you haven’t already. The words “obsessive” and “suffocating” definitely hint towards borderline, but it’s not a guarantee or anything. Also, just be a bit easier on yourself. Everyone’s different.

What do you enjoy doing? What brings you joy in life? Even if it’s something small.

I can see where you're coming from, and I guess for me it depends on if you see the story from Kurono's POV or from the outside. I'll concede though, and admit that it probably has more themes of existentialism than nihilism. The things that really gave me nihilist vibes were the gods, the german number girl, and clone kei.

I remember the first time I read Gantz, I saw it as a message of hope and perseverance, but the next time it hit me how bleak it really was. I like your analysis a lot tho. Time for me to have another re-read lol.

Kind of a crazy song to get a TikTok trend, but I’m just glad it’s getting appreciated.

A lot of reading analysis can be simply what YOU the reader take from it. For me it was a story about growth, tenacity, and self-discovery. A typical Hero’s journey. If you just look at how much Kei grows as a character, from the selfish, uncaring pervert in chapter one to the selfless, motivated pervert in the final arc, it’s fairly evident. Also, I’d argue that you could take a very nihilistic message from the story. They keep chasing all these loose ends trying to discover the purpose of gantz, losing all their friends, and most of it is meaningless. The aliens didn’t have some crazy higher purpose for building Gantz, reincarnation was seen as simply “printing copies”, and a lot of the cooler side stories in Gantz (like the vampires, and Cherry’s powers) were simply interesting things that happened in the same universe, while not tying in necessarily with the overarching alien god plot. Also, another intellectual way to look at it is this. It has Aliens, cool guns, big swords, mech suits, tits, and vampires. What more do you need from a story?

He has a pretty solid discography with music for most moods. He has great production. He has connections with huge industry figures. He has amazing live shows. I’m not a big fan personally but I 100% get why he’s so big.

Yeah, I’m gonna be real. Hyper-religious people tend to be really skeptical of mental illness and downplay it as stuff like that. Unfaltering belief in something you can’t prove is just another form of delusion, but they don’t wanna hear that. Nothing against religious people either. Just focus on what YOU can do to get through your condition, don’t rely on an external force to solve all your problems.

I’ll be honest, your mom is probably trying her best to help you, but that’s an EXTREMELY dangerous mindset to have. Trauma from hospital visits is almost always going to be preferable to winding up dead. I can relate to a lot of what you said, but remember that you can work through trauma, you can’t come back from suicide. I hope you get through this, and don’t be afraid to reach out if shit ever gets too rough.

50/50 for me. Sometimes I come out of it thinking, “Damn, I was tripping, but now I know I can make it through this type of shit.” Other times though, it’s more “I don’t know if I have much more of this left in me.”

Late to reply, but I feel you. Definitely get very decisive without good reason when I’m like that, plus it drives me to abuse substances feeling like I’m invincible. You got this tho, I know it’s harder in the moment, but try to remember these urges are temporary.

Don’t. It can feel great in the moment, but I’ve made so many bad permanent decisions and burnt so many bridges when I was going through manic episodes. I won’t lie though, as a music producer some of my biggest periods of inspiration have come during manic episodes. Still get bad depressive episodes too though, and they’re no fun either.

Every comment that isn’t completely glazing Meg is getting downvoted lmao.

I second this. B.o.B is a really intelligent guy but was always very heavy into a lot of conspiracies. Unfortunately when he left his predatory deal with Atlantic Records, there was a lot of bad press and lack of media support for him. Lupe Fiasco was also blackballed for a while after speaking out against Atlantic, though he was able to find success again after.

Watch any interview with B.o.B and aside from the flat earth, JQ, and celebrity cloning stuff, he is always very well spoken and thoughtful.

You’re lucky to have really nice long hair. There’s nothing you’re “supposed” to do with it. I’d say get creative. Not sure what your personal style is, but you can try lots. A modern top knot or other tied up style could emphasize your face, could try long curls if you’re comfortable with it and don’t lose hair easily, but there’s so many things you can do. The only “problem” with long-ass hair like yours is that a lot of your style options will look pretty feminine if you don’t have well-developed facial hair. Most important thing though is to do what YOU like, since you’re going to have to see it every day.

I’m excited to see them expand on this. This is a whole subplot in a manga called Gantz and there’s so much they can do with it.

Thanks, I just switched to iPhone so I don’t know most of the tips and tricks

Yo thanks so much that’s definitely him. I really like his character design, I’m gonna have to find more comics with him for sure.
