i’ve actually read many books with really realistic portrayals of trauma, my thing is that there is a way to have character development and still have trauma, i just read a book where she doesn’t trust people yet, but does want to try and live her life afterwards, but when she meets new people or is in certain situations she has ptsd, or has really bad nightmares. it’s just… having her stay the exact same just feels repetitive. because while i love accurate portrayals, it’s also important to remember that healing from trauma is possible, and it’s usually slow and painful not “i stay the exact same until one moment i get over it” it would have been nice to see her slowly progressing after 90 chapters.

i agree it does at some point feel like ppl are enjoying that she’s miserable and traumatized? i just wanted the story to progress more that why i also dropped it

i really get this i don’t know why everyone’s downvoting you! it’s a fake book that 100% doesn’t need to follow reality, i had a similar problem with ruby, not because i didn’t think she deserved to be still traumatized, but because the story didn’t feel like it was progressing at all with her just being the same unfortunately. i ended up dropping it for that reason

sometimes i think about that one old tumblr post where the couple invited everyone to a costume party and it was their wedding lmao, genuinely was probably so fun

the only one i’ve seen that looked kinda fun was the bride asked everyone to wear mostly black so the wedding party would stand out, and honestly everyone looked so elegant i couldn’t be mad.

i just read one called “romancing miss stone” and it’s about a girl who owns her fathers tour company and is in debt and a man chasing after a fiancé that broke up with him over text while on an archeological dig. he pays her to take him and it is quite the adventure it’s really fun and low stakes tho

i genuinely had a friend in college that was in the same situation, she actually couldn’t open any cards up in her name because her parents had so many bad ones that she had to repay first. i always told her that she needed to take legal action but she was brainwashed into the “family is everything” they treated her like shit tbh.
