I haven't seen anyone mention the 'Library of Things' service a lot of them have now. At the one near me you can borrow old school gaming systems, tools, musical instruments, kitchen gadgets, and board games.
True. I have a friend who just can't afford a car. He does however know how to drive and will offer to take over for a few hours on road trips and help with gas etc. I'm good with that . I was thinking of the people who never learn despite being able too when I made that comment. Those are the ones I've known who always want to take long day trips etc.
He's lucky to have a partner who doesn't use him as a chauffeur. Not everyone is as mindful as you though. I'll also add that you have a valid reason for not driving. For many it's just laziness. They know they can rely on others to do the driving and just don't bother.
I live in city with great public transit that is very bike friendly and it's still difficult to have friends who don't drive. At some point you just get tired of always being the driver. Especially when these carless people who never got a license want to go hiking, skiing, camping etc. I can't speak for this particular girl but a guy without a car is a hard deal breaker for me.
A local nursery here has one a little bigger than that for $200. I haven't seen any in Lowes/Home Depot here yet so I'm assuming that's how they justify the prices but you can definitely find ones the same size on FB Marketplace for $40.
Your office sounds amazing and I'd love to see a picture.
This was a pleasure to read, truly. Also are we counting outdoor plants because yikes. I think I'm at 18 catnip plants alone? Granted I need that many because my cats get supervised outdoor time and they can destroy a plant in under a minute. I need that many so there's always several large healthy plants for them to choose from haha.
I have 35 types of plants but I have a few pots of some of them for 45ish pots total. I have a floor to ceiling plant shelf in front of a large living room window so they provide privacy along with having a very small footprint - and that's including one massive monstera. They're also mostly aroids so it take like 10 minutes to water them all every week or two.
Her 200 sounds like a lot but it might well be a lot more manageable that it sounds.
If the stores start putting Halloween items out around July 5th then that obviously means it's time to get out the decorations that aren't part of my everyday decor right? I've always assumed it worked that way anyway ;)
It's not rare. It's just a marble queen that's gotten a lot of light. You can definitely find them at Lowe's/Home Depot etc. I don't think there is a pothos that's hard to propagate. Or if there is I've never found it and I have roughly a dozen. Edit: 19 I just counted. I'm a pothos addict
She'll be okay in there. She can use the time to rest and recover from surgery and get more comfortable with you. Maybe offer her toy or catnip too? It took my feral mom a while to get into toys but now that she likes them and has figured out where the kitty toy box is, I come home from work to toys everywhere.
I started with one kennel than added a second by removing one side of each kennel and zip tying them together about a month into her stay. Two months in she has run of the place. She's doing great! Still learning how to be a housecat but making progress all the time. (edited for clarity)
On the other side of the country (PNW) we go to the coast not the beach and it drives locals mad when people say otherwise.
You look fantastic! What areas did you have done? Under eyes, nasolabial folds, a little in the cheeks?
💯 this. While everyone I know is daydreaming about going to Mexico to roast on the beach I'm over here thinking my next vacation should be Norway, Sweden, maybe Alaska?
Okay that is adorable!! Magpies are my favorite corvids but sadly they don't live in my area.
I did. One wanted to take him to the Audubon Society which is why I took the video and sent her the comments saying he's fine.
I'm keeping my distance. The photos/videos were taken zoomed in as far as my phone could go. The only time I got closer than two car lengths is when I turned the faucet off.
He's not having trouble walking everywhere at least. I was watering my backyard just now and when I went to turn the hose off I started getting yelled at from every tree around. Turns out baby had walked over and was under the faucet taking a bath.
The baby crow I posted a few days ago is still hanging around but moving all over the area. I had to track him down with a neighbor's help this morning. Another neighbor thinks he might have lost his tail feathers somehow and is maybe injured but this looks like normal derpy baby to me? Thoughts? The adults are still around and feeding the whiny baby.
Fledgling raven? He's huge compared to the crows who hang out here. He flew way up into an enormous old tree not long after I took this picture (through the window).
We're in a heatwave and I think the big bowl of ice water I put out attracted this guy.
