I did a walbro pump, an oem fuel sending unit ,an aftermarket tank which came with all the needed gaskets, and purchased all associated hoses. Fuel filler, all rubber hoses etc.

Replace everything you can while the tank is down. It's not a hard task, but it's not a fun one either. And I agree with oem or walbro pump

Try tricking it with another DVD. Put the disc in just enough to activate the motor

I agree. Much cheaper and much easier. You can get the rebuild kit online for $30(ish) dollars. Once you get the starter out, it's pretty quick and easy to swap the contacts and plunger.
