I worked at a collections law firm where, once a month, the president would call us into a big room for birthdays and to gloat about the record breaking amount of money brought in. Breaking a record meant casual dress code for the month. Those records stopped when COVID hit, obviously, and within a month there was a record number of layoffs. The man believed it would boost morale to have us all pile into a room, at the height of COVID, to tell us we didn’t break any records “for the first time in two years” and that we all needed to dress professionally moving forward since we couldn’t continue to break records at the height of a worldwide pandemic :) they then put a full and complete stop on any raises. This law firm had a yearly ~90 person turn around. That is NOT an exaggeration.

Is people going around others yielding to oncoming traffic to turn (when there’s only one lane) legal? Lots of impatient folks I’ve witnessed almost cause an accident doing this.

The other day I tried ordering some pizza online, FOR PICK-UP, but wouldn’t let me check out without leaving a tip.

My parents have a cat they tried to name Boots but everyone just calls Kitty.

My girl has had to have a lot of work after not going to the dentist for a long time and really loves Russell Modern Dentistry. She’s not the biggest fan of the front desk or the hygienists, but loved every experience she’s had with her dentist, Dr. Hart, and the surgical team that recently removed her wisdom teeth. They couldn’t put her to sleep, and even then they worked to reassure her and make her feel safe and comfortable.

My dad smokes ALL day, and I mean ALL day. I recently visited the family, and since I wasn’t comfortable at home I would wake up in the middle of the night every night during the witching hour. My dad, reliably, was watching TV and smoking so he could go back to sleep. Then he’d smoke when he woke up, on his way to his jobs (as a plumber), on his way home from work, when he got out the shower, right before he ate. I didn’t realize just how much he smoked until he started smoking in front of his kids.
