The 2+’hour conversations need to stop. I’m not that much younger than you and life has taught me that there is no such thing as an emotionally close platonic boy/ girl (or whatever orientation) friendship. Sex / sexual feelings always messes it up. Someone always gets hurt.

Stop leaning on her / allowing her to lean on you for emotional sustenance. From what you’ve described, you will end up hurting her. For a starting point, cut back the phone calls significantly. Don’t ghost her, but go live your life. Don’t sit on the phone scratching your itches with someone you have no future with.

There is a 5-7 year maturity gap in men / women that doesn’t go away til late 70s and maybe not even then.

So if a woman dates an older man, within a ten year gap, they are often compatible. Reverse it, and the maturity gap is compounded. A “cougar” who is willing to put up with that nonsense….woof.

I’m the same way. I generally don’t like stay over service. If I need coffee, etc, I ask for it at the desk. I leave the room clean, minimal garbage, towels in one place, etc. I don’t tip in these instances. Nothing against the housekeepers, it’s just that they didn’t do me any direct service. They worked for the hotel to prep for a guest.

First of all, this is why I pay 13.00 a month for pet insurance. It’s a 500.00 deductible for a 10K yearly limit. It’s to cover things like this.

With your income, assuming the cat has a good prognosis, it has 5-12 years ahead of it. Also assuming you / the kids care for the cat. Some cats are a real pain and / or just kind of “there.”

With that said, proportionally speaking, to put it in perspective, your choice to euthanize is mathematically equivalent to someone with a 75K income saying “Nope, can’t / won’t swing $1900, nighty-night Fluffy.”

Now, it’s probably easier for you to absorb a 10K bill than for a 75K per year house to absorb 1900.00, but it’s something you have to decide on your own. Next round, get insurance. Good luck.
