I hope these work better than the current traffic sign recognition and location systems. I’ve had two cars with same and both struggled to understand the difference between a motorway and an underpass or a tunnel. This meant they started braking unnecessarily and dangerously on these roads.

I’ve actually been surprised by the range of motion on the RAV front wheels. Every time I do a sharp slow turn I’m finding it has a bit more it can go. Really good for tight spaces.

If we ever end up having to defend our civilisation in front of a galactic tribunal this will be a tricky one to get past.

An interesting thing that has occurred since Toyota went all in on hybrids in some European countries is that people who never drove automatic but always bought Toyota are now driving automatics.

It’s not impossible for a 2019 to have it but a lot of the head units of that age aren’t compatible according to the dealers. I believe they were from the different suppliers and one was okay but the other not. It may also depend on the country you are in which unit you had. The reason I know is that I passed on a 2019 and 2020 for this exact reason and the dealer would have been more than happy to resolve this to get the sale.

It might be because the wheel arch intrudes into the rear seating area. The seat is a bit narrower than the outside dimensions might suggest.

Powerwash Simulator. You can listen to the white noise of the spray or turn it down and listen to music/podcasts etc.

I think it might be limited to newer ones. When I was looking it seemed only a few late 2020 had it, anything older didn’t. The reason I heard was that the actual hardware (the head unit) wasn’t setup to work with the latest software that enables CarPlay or Android Auto. The dealer should be able to type the cars details into a database and check for compatibility. If it’s not possible I’ve heard of people replacing the head unit but not sure how viable that is. If all else fails you are left with Bluetooth audio at least. Or get a good phone holder that clips into the centre console. Some of the MagSafe ones look very good.

I imagine the only way this could work is if there were specific regulated portal locations, like airports today, where outgoing and incoming traffic could be screened etc.

Being able to personally open portals to anywhere would be a problem for many reasons.

All vehicles, whether ice, hybrid or EV, will roll to a stop eventually. If you’ve enough visibility ahead this isn’t so hard to achieve. If you’ve ever driven a motorboat you get good at this also.

I wonder if any movies or TV shows have been filmed on Madeira. It has such a varied landscape in a really compact space.

RDR2 during the lockdowns. I put on earphones and just wandered around the map admiring the scenery.

I feel they could release this today and it would do better. Maybe even as an EV.

It won’t fully go away though, we still transport oil to refineries that become petrochemicals and industrial products like lubricants, solvents etc. But this would of course be a far smaller amount than for heating and transportation purposes. And during refining you still end up with the other oils whether you use them or not, you can’t as far as I understand, just refine the bits you want.

Call of Duty. I just pick one of the good missions and replay it. Death from Above is a solid choice most times.

I find older single player games do it for me when I don’t feel like investing (time/money/mind) in gaming. I browse the bargain game section and pick up a few titles from say 2015 or so and play these for a few days.

Have a look at this YouTube video (around the 2 minute point) for some tips on door settings

Yes! I was looking at it for a while until it clicked that it was a roadside

Might be worth checking if you are in one of the countries that is covered by the Toyota Relax warranty.

I found a link here with some information including eligible countries.

Horizon Forbidden West. I like the visuals and the story but something about fighting robots just seems empty.

I was listening to a podcast about the poem recently, and they referred to this interesting book that I now want to read.

‘The If Man: Dr Leander Starr Jameson, the Inspiration for Kipling's Masterpiece’ by Chris Ash.
