DCA has made a change recently (past 1-2 months). I used to be able to walk at a steady pace pace without stopping, but now the doors forced me to wait in the middle while all doors closed z. Super slow relative to the previous operation.
The doors at DCA used to allow you to continue walking at a steady pace. DCA seems to have made a change in the past month or so, as ai had to stop in the middle twice and wait— even though I was the only person. I think the brand or model of door may have changed, as the audio is a bit different.
Gates of that style have been there for years, but something has changed recently.
I fly in/out of DCA quite often and noticed about a month ago that the timing or something has changed (or maybe new brand of similar style?). Previously, it was quite easy to continue walking through without delay (similar to doors at SJU); now you must stop in the middle and wait a few seconds each time… pretty annoying.
Similar to Puerto Rico (85 median IQ); while rates of first cousin marriage today aren’t nearly as high as Pakistan, it was higher in the past and it’s an island with a relatively shallow gene pool.

It’s been a well-known life-or-death problem for at least 20 years I know of personally, and others claim at least 30+ years.
Either way, the people certainly deserve more than “expressing frustration”, as that’s been the typical response for decades. The continued failings are an indictment of every single current and past councilmember and mayor for the past 20 years. And, it indicates how little the elected leaders truly care about those who live in DC.
It’s a life or death problem that’s been covered in publicly available detail for at least two decades.
Two decades without adequate oversight demonstrates how little DC Council or the mayor care about the people they were elected to serve.
Call them. What do you mean price check? They’re the manufacturer.
Yep, same in DC I previous years- eg, starting in 2017, protestors started blocking the parade and the organizers tolerated it for several years.
Not sure, but I was there when it happened. Occurred around 14th and N St NW, just north of Thomas Circle.
They tried this in the DC pride parade a couple weeks ago and the honor guard just marched right through them, with the police following and continuing to march through them too.
Didn’t even stop the parade lol. People need to stand up to this nonsense.
Jofemar Vision series- they look great and are super flexible
It may look good, but not practical. DDOT completely ignored demand for Uber and other ride share and delivery services.
In short, there’s no where legally for these services to operate along 14th. Eg, rideshare must pull as far to the curb as possible to pickup/discharge passengers, but aren’t allowed to stop in the bike lane and aren’t allowed to stop in a traffic lane either.

I haven’t had it myself (yet) thankfully, but several friends have had it over the years. One lost recently was hospitalized, discharged, then re-hospitalized again after a few days out.
It’s really bad stuff— use bug spray and don’t let anyone pressure you into minimizing by it.
$1200 for PPL in Puerto Rico (as of 2021). And the two local DPEs fix the prices, so it’s literally cheaper to fly in a DPE from the US and pay their fee and hotel costs.
I exclusively use Jofemar combo machines at high-volume locations ($400-600/machine/week). They look clean and modern (and can very wrapped with custom design), are super dependable and flexible, and their support is great.
Their US office is in Doral, FL… may be worth paying them a visit.
That’s not quite accurate. Non-DoD personnel (appointees, direct EOP civilians, detailees from other agencies) certainly receive additional suitability vetting, but not YW. YW is purely a DOD process carried out by DOD (WHMO).
Any vending machine with a Nayax credit card reader should work.
The Nayax readers can be configured to accept credit cards, prepaid cards, etc…. And can block the unwanted types (in this case, credit cards).
Yeah, you can get to nearly all beaches on a golf cart, some with a short walk (which is needed even in a Jeep): Flamenco, Tamarindo, Carlos Rosario, Dátiles, Brava, Larga, Punta Soldado, Zoni, and more.
