Might be a weird flex to promote my own game with "mostly positive" reviews, but I'm really happy with how my latest release, Boons & Burdens, is coming together and reviews have been trending upward recently.

It's a twin-stick action roguelite. Free demo of the survival mode here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2646120/Boons__Burdens/ The full game has another more complex mode with objectives, boss fights, and a bunch of content to unlock. It's still in Early Access but will be complete in the next two months. Big update coming later this week.

Self Promo Alert: Boons & Burdens has a lot of what you're looking for. Pixel art, twin-stick, magic, roguelike. It's not a dungeon crawler, but you teleport between levels with mini-objectives, fight bosses, and choose upgrades. There's also an arena survival mode without bosses you can try out with the free demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2646120/Boons__Burdens/ Still in Early Access, but should be finished in the next 2 months. Big update coming later this week.

People care about the weirdest things. I was actually just talking to a guy working at Trader Joe's that said Mario 2 was his favorite. I'll have to ask if Zelda 2 was his favorite as well. You're not alone, though it shouldn't matter. To each their own.

Wow, Zelda 2 and Mario 2. I've never heard of someone that prefers both. These are the hot takes I came here for.

Happy to remind people to play my games, haha. I'm about to update the demo with a few bug fixes. Just testing it all right now.

Hey again! Time for my monthly update on my twin-stick action roguelite!

A brand new demo lets you check out the Arena mode with the Cryomancer, and face fast paced challenges and enemies as you try to survive for 15 minutes. You can grab the free demo or pick up a copy on sale (and extra discounts for bundles) here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2646120/Boons__Burdens/

Then buy the full game to unlock the Delve mode, with dynamic objectives and boss fights. And take on the new dangers with the Pyromancer and the brand new Electromancer classes! Unlock and upgrade 30 magical rings, and face an even greater challenge in a higher difficulty.

All this talk of realistic beasts, but what Hearthstone really needs is realistic science-based Dragons.

Noita and Spelunky are probably the two most "roguelike" of games not actually in the exact genre as Rogue, in my opinion. So I am confused by this post. But it's hard to tell still which is which in their mind.

It's not a confusing concept. An independent business means you don't own other businesses nor are you owned by another business. The concept applies to all businesses in every industry. Everything else is just arbitrary feelings.

In addition to what others said, lead never leaves your body. It mimics calcium and gets stored in your bones. It's a permanent problem.

Literally the first book, The Colour of Magic.

Wishlisted. Will check the demo out soon. Good luck! It looks fantastic. I hope all the hard work pays off.

That's the whole point of this post. OP used to be confused by this seemingly arbitrary choice, until they found out it was vestigial.
