Even if he just stays at around 50% that's almost 5% better than anyone else on the team.

49% career average FO%, 50.8% last year. Not a specialist but decent for a 24 year old.

Grew up going to Amerks games in the 90s when they were really good, so I've got pretty fond memories if BCA. Didn't get to any this year, but I usually try to get back over to Rochester for a few games a year, especially with the current prospects they have..

They're different projections I think. Savoie is a higher ceiling lower floor type prospect than Helenius. Savoie is has more offensive upside but I don't think projects well to a 3rd line role (and also not as a center). Helenius actually projects as a center, has more defensive upside and probably has a higher prospect floor than Savoie.

He'd probably be more like 15-20th if the 2022 draft was redone today but he's still a solid prospect with serious top 6 upside. That said, he's maybe the most expendable "high end" prospect in the Sabres system right now and there's some somewhat credible reports out there that he wasn't viewed as favorably within league front offices as he is online.

A lot of people are hung up on him being 9th overall, but he'd probably be 10 picks lower if the draft were to be redone today.

I recommend reading it, at least once; I haven't reread it on subsequent circumnavigations. There's not much in the unfinished 21, as it ends before the main plot really gets going, but it does have some lovely character moments. It's about 3 mostly finished chapters, then a few handwritten parts that are a bit rougher, and then it ends in the middle of a sentence, though the ending does occur right after a nice sub-plot wraps up so it's actually about as good a stopping point as could be expected for an unfinished story.

There's also a very beautify written afterword that discusses not just the unfinished novel but the entire series.

This thread has a pretty good answer to that question. https://www.reddit.com/r/Stellaris/comments/1akv08l/best_dlcs/

I’d recommend getting the 4 “basically mandatory” ones for now and playing for a bit to see how you like to play. The story packs are mostly good but overpriced unless they’re on sale. Some of the other expansions and origin ones are good but only if you play a certain style of empire or want a different starting option.

Also there are some really good mods that do everything from improved UI and graphics, to adding new random events, to total conversion into other fictional universes.

CK3 is where I’d suggest someone with no grand strategy experience start but if you aren’t interested in medieval Europe then Stellaris is probably the second easiest of the Paradox games to pick up from scratch. Theres a lot to learn, but Stellaris is much more 4X than most other Paradox games so you start small and have a much more linear progression (at least early on) than a lot of other Paradox games.

Stellaris is one of those games where I will go months without playing, but when I do get into the mood to play it I’ll ruin my sleep schedule for a whole week just to play it. I don’t have a particularly addictive personality but Stellaris just catches me in just the right way.

Celeste has pick and choose settings for things like invincibility, unlimited stamina, unlimited dashes etc. You can really easily make the game as easy as you’d like.

I think he was far enough ahead of where the crash happened it wasn’t his fault. I think it just happened to squeeze behind right as he was coming over.

The parts of Canada close to us are mostly farm land or cities, so not the greatest for backpacking. You have to go north of Toronto to get into more wild areas, which is a pretty far drive.

Instead you should look south. The Southern Tier has a lot of options in state forests and along the finger lakes trail. The finger lakes trail has several primitive tents sites and even lean-to’s within an hour or so south of Buffalo.

Northern PA also has a lot of great options in various public lands. Check out Allegheny national forest, Black Forrest trail, or the Laurel Highlands.

Minister Creek in Allegheny forest is a personal favorite of mine for a weekend trip. Only about 2 hours from Buffalo.

Yep, 2003 was the worst for this. Started with a prologue, then went like 3 flat stages, a team TT then 3 more flat stages. After the first week the top 8 were all US Postal riders because of the team TT.

Don't forget the opening weekend/prolouge time trial.

This reminds me a lot of the 2016 free agent class where a ton of teams (Sabres included) overpaid a bunch of guys in their 30s and basically all of the contracts looked terrible within 3-4 years, if not sooner.

The central is going to be a blood bath next year.

Honestly cloning Zach Benson a few times would solve a lot of this teams issues. They should try that.

I mean it’s better than desperately trying to trade the pick and traded it for ________ (fill in the blank terrible or overpaid player).

He’s reportedly almost NHL ready. Hope they can convince him to play in NA this year (either make the team or on the Amerks).

I love the pick, just would have loved more to see it used as part of a package for an NHL top 6.

That’s Rasmus Dahlin. Looks just like him.
