Yes. I've not been lonely for the last 40 years or so. I have zero issues doing anything by myself, I even enjoy eating at restaurants on my own.

When I travel with others, it's something I do for them. I took my Mom to Ireland recently and it was fine, but it was definitely a gift from me to her. And don't even get me started on taking the kids to Disney...

Good to know! I still think Hat Yai is a good call and, respectfully, suggest you pass on the sandwich recommendations. What Portland has that Chicago might not is very good Thai and Vietnamese food. There’s good pizza and reasonably good Mexican food in town, but Chicago is solid there.

You might try Eem. It’s good Thai BBQ food that’s hard to describe but delicious.

I would go to Hat Yai, but where do you live? Folks might be able to recommend something different from what you can get at home.

The reaction to the Grants Pass decision is telling. On the ultra liberal Portland sub the vast majority of posters were like “thank fucking god.” On the general news subs, folks were clutching pearls. I’m never voting republican but I’m so done with the homeless situation here, the outrageous homeless tax, and the NGO grifters getting rich off the problem.
