Nesting 😊❤️ I will eat that shit up every time. I don't care which character it is or what dynamic they have, as long as they make their nest however they want (a messy pile of soft cuddly things vs an imposing blanket fort) and snuggle into it, then you have my heart in your hands.

Personally, not much? Whenever I write or draw something for any fandom, I go with the strict mindset of "I Can Do Whatever The Fuck I Want" and it's usually because I wanted to release my personal (and unpopular) headcanons into the wild. It also helps to stop reading other people's fics for a while and rewatch the original series to solidify my ideas.

I am extremely weak for stories about people trying their best but their best is barely enough

Personally, I give them them the juiciest, most delicious ending I could think of. If the ending isn't enjoyable to ME then I'm not doing it. So, depending on how much or how little I care about the antagonist... could go either way.

You speed, hand it over. 🥲 What I wouldn't give to be able to sit down and write more than 100 words per month.

Don't care much:

• Bakugo. He's an interesting deuteragonist, he reminds me a bit of Vegeta (fave) so there's some nostalgia from that but the fandom either REALLY loves him or REALLY hates him. I just wanna see where Hori intends to throw him next 😂
• Alastor, HH. That voice effect tho 👌
• Megumi, JJK. He's kinda boring tbh but he got cool powers so his fight scenes are fun to watch
• Karkat
• Rise Donnie, Mikey, Splinter
• Obito. Most confusing character arc I've ever seen.

Really care about:

• Rise Leo. I used to be normal about him until I read ROT fanfics. Now I'm suddenly CEO of Leo Defense Army. He's mostly there to make his brothers look like they're right for treating him like shit. Like a prop instead of a character. I'm staying far away from that side of the fandom for a reason.
• Sakura. I just thought she was cool for having super strength. Later, I saw so many haters lambasting her for being the type of character that Kishi has no idea how to write about, so I somehow ended up defending her, flaws and all.
• Tony Stark. Idek how THAT happened, I forgot, but it's been years and he's still my favorite malewife.

It gets even worse when you realize these writers use Donnie's autism as an excuse becoming violent at the slightest offense. It's honestly terrifying to read the comments praising this depiction.

It just hurts to see casual ableism depicted for laughs.

I've also noticed that 95% of the time, it's Leo who takes the brunt of Donnie's punches. IDK what's up with ROT fandom right now but whenever Leo is depicted as suicidal (a common headcanon in the fandom or so I've noticed), they write it as if it's his fault for turning out that way. Big red flag right there. I just need to see how his brothers were written (angry, accusatory, insulting, blaming him for keeping secrets??? just being assholes in general) to know that Leo is gonna be the black sheep again to make his brothers look good for "saving Leo from himself". No thank you. Muted and blocked.

It's unfortunate but ROT fandom really made me hate Raph, Donnie and Mikey 🤧 I'm not even gonna touch ROT + 2012 crossovers. I just want peace in my life.

It was a bad time to be a simple fan of Sakura back then, it's actually much better now since the series ended and most of the haters moved on.

Rise version of Donatello. He's funny in the show but in fanfics? Obnoxious, creepy, and treats his brothers like verbal (other times even physical) punching bags.

Since gradeschool, around 2011. My first fics were awful but I still regret deleting them like 5 years ago :/ I would've gone back and time to gently encourage younger me to write more of their wildest fantasies with much less shame and religious guilt.

That character trope is my kryptonite; I see potentional for hurt and I get buried in plot bunnies

The easiest solution I found was to type "-reader" in the search bar (without quotations) and it's an instant sweep. I think there's also a skin that hides ALL reader-related tags from one of those AO3 CSS tutorials

There isn't a tag I hate now, but when I was, what 14(?)  which is more than a decade ago, I grew up in a traditional family that didn't like gay people. So at first I avoided slashfics and lemon as if they killed my dog, then I started hate-reading because younger me was like, "what's so good about these hedonistic things to get this much following anyway?"

Flashback to now where I figured out I'm bi aro, proud to be queer, and with 4k bookmarks on AO3 (half of which are smutfics 😊)

I haven't received a comment that actually feels Too Much, and that's mostly because I'm very upfront about what I expect from readers e.g. no trauma dumping, no pushing for updates, no nsfw confessions, no backhanded compliments. 

Main takeaway from this is to be extremely blunt about what you expect from readers who comment and bookmark. Worse comes to worst, just delete, mute, block, etc.

I think the tag for noncon incest is Forced Incest? Other that that, authors usually tag Abuse and Noncon right next to Incest so readers can get the jist of it.

1. How different people react to, and subsequently handle (or mishandle) their traumatic response as a result. I've read the ugly side of recovery, the ups and downs because life sucks but you only have 1 life anyways so use it well and use it wisely.

2. Neutrality and indifference. I've learned not to be offended by things that aren't really problematic in the first place (e.g. arousal, fiction, fantasy (not the genre)) because of how mature and learned the author is when they treat dark and controversial themes in their stories.

3. CBT and pussy slapping.

It's a mixed bag personally. I usually sort by oldest, because the stuff fandom oldies made are Built Different from what I've seen. Otherwise I go through bookmarks.

Infodump. Whether it's backstory, character POV, or description, my brain cannot handle huge blocks of text just word vomiting filler.

Basically, if it's "tell, don't show" it's an immediate mute for me.
