I’m a huge Phily fan. One of the few running influencers I can stand. She’s genuine, goofy (in a way I appreciate), undeniably elite (as another commenter said), and humble. Plus Daniel is really lovable too.

  1. I'm an intermediate runner. I've been running recreationally for 20+ years (including xc in HS), but have gotten more serious in the past year about speedwork, racing & goal-setting (have my sights on a BQT in the next year or two). I am a petite woman with huge feet for my height (5'2", size USW9 in running shoes). I have a strong arch, fairly wide toe box and a narrow heel. I have a slight heel strike but working on that. I usually run between 35-45 miles per week, with 2 speed workouts/week, a couple easy ~60min runs and an easy long run.
  2. Seeking general advice on shoes as my current rotation is reaching its max mileage and I think it could be improved. I ran in Mizuno Wave Riders for years - they work well for my narrow heel and wide toe box, but I find them quite heavy. Right now I’m running in New Balance 880s for general training/speed (gave them a try for an alternative to the Mizuno WRs) – they're fine, but I find them similarly heavy to the Wave Riders and don’t love the lockdown. For long/easy runs I wear Asics Novablasts – I like that they're lightweight and enjoy the cushion for long runs, but I like to feel a bit more connected to the road, and I feel like they force me to heel strike more than I would naturally. I've recently raced in NB FuelCell SC Elite v3s (my first supershoes) and loved them.
  3. Ideally I'd like to stay under $160/pair.
  4. Many thanks in advance!

I PRd by 5+ minutes in my half using Fast Half with a finish time of 1:40:30, then bought Fast Fall and Fast 5K and I’m excited to find more speed and hopefully BQ in a year or so (I just started Fast Fall). I agree the plans are expensive but I do think they work, at least for runners like me who never focused on base speed, never took easy runs seriously, etc. And I’ll echo other commenters who’ve noted how responsive Kim/Tyler are to DMs and emails - it almost feels like access to a private coach, which to me helps justify the cost.

However, I can’t quite bring myself to buy Fast Strength yet. Would anyone be willing to trade that for either Fast Fall or Fast 5k?
