I think you’re missing a colon. A colon can drastically change the meaning of a sentence.

Bots such as Maximum (3200), mittens and the Magni for example, would always get checkmated in exactly 28 moves by playing into this line.

Other bots try 9.Qf3, but often go on to lose or go into a Qv2R endgame where black is slightly better (but I’m not good enough to win). They never play the correct 9.d3 for some reason, and if they did I’d simply lose every time.
That being said, I haven’t played these bots in a while.
Also, there’s this yt channel that keeps beating top bots by making them all fall for a fishing pole which is kinda funny.
