pretty strict rules to avoid inbreeding
Yeah, I don't think that's applied for at least 125 years.
I dunno about a single country but I've always thought that four countries consisting of Argentina, Brazil Columbia and Mexico made sense.
I think Willas Tyrell is the one actually calling the shots, with the Tyrell family letting Mace Tyrell think those were all his ideas.
I don't eat fast food very often but I stopped at Wendy's last week and ordered two singles and a large fries and it was just short of $16.00!
Poland needs to get into football, as they suck as soccer and I'd suggest that a rough and tumble sport like football better suits Polish culture. Plus, they'd have cool uniforms.
There is nothing fun about this thread?
I'm guessing they're horribly inbred. I'm imagining the scary islanders from Peter Jackson's "King King"...
Manuel Noriega was able to procure a nuclear bomb
And yet my attempt at starting a thread was rejected for being "literally a What-if post"...
When I was 9 years old, I flew PanAm to and from Poland back in 1977 with my ex-pat parents. I got a plastic pin-on wing badge and the music "stations" for the headphones (that plugged into the arm rest) played a short list of recorded boring grown up music, except for one channel, which had funny songs like "Alley Oop" which I listened to over and over again back and forth across the Atlantic.

Excellent alternate history what if from Usenet's soc.history.what-if newsgroup back in the day.
The Point-of-Departure, which is what alternate history buffs call the event that changes the alternate timeline from our own history, occurs on 20 April 1889, when a newly-born Adolf Hitler is accidentally drowned. With no Hitler to unite Germany's radical right during the Great Depression, it remains fragmented. Instead of being converted into a legal dictatorship, the Weimar Republic falls to a right-wing coup led by Ernst Röhm in October 1932. With his popularity dropping, Röhm launches an invasion of Poland in May 1936. The Poles are able to halt Röhm's poorly-equipped Brown Army, and by November 1936 the two armies are stalemated.
gun laws have a minimal impact on crime.
That's the point I was making. Gun laws only affect the already law abiding and we were never the problem.
60% of the murders in Michigan happen in the city of Detroit, which makes up less than 8% of the state's population and all Michiganders have the same access to guns and are subject to the same state and federal gun laws.
Guns are not and have never been the problem, if they were, then the murder rate would be more or less equal throughout the state.
Why Did The Romans Never Colonize Ireland?
While Europe would later become the center of the world and go on to conquer and colonize the planet, at the time of the Roman empire, Europe outside of the Mediterranean was a howling wilderness swarming with bare-assed blue painted savages. If the Romans had conquered Ireland, they'd have just ended with a lot of trees.
The show is making it very obvious who we should root for. They seem allergic to complexity in women. They’re pushing this narrative that women can be put through hell but will always choose the least destructive path. If they fight, they only fight to protect their children and not for themselves.
Hollywood feminism; where even if a villain is female, she only does bad stuff because the men around her forced her into it. Both Rhaenyra and Alicent are presented this way in the tv show, (as was Cersei in GoT) women trapped in a man's world doing the best they can for their kids.
All we know for a fact is that the kid had a pellet gun on him.
They released the bodycam footage and the guy suddenly ran from the cops while they were talking to him and while they were chasing him, he pulled a pistol.
Justified shooting.
Lets not forget that everybody in the sports media was saying Patricia would take the Lions to the Superbowl.
https://www.businessinsider.com/how-rich-is-jeff-bezos-mind-blowing-facts-net-worth-2019-4
Since mid-October 2019, Bezos' fortune has grown by $80 billion. Based on the year-over-year change in his net worth, Bezos has made $152,207 per minute — and $2,537 per second. That latter figure is more than three times what the median US worker makes in a week.
I'd suggest the answer is mandatory conversion of conventional corporations to worker owned cooperatives, for any business above the level of a "family" company (say more than 1000 employees?).
I think the argument would be that if the gun was damaged, the defense would argue that the negligence falls squarely on the armorer
Except the gun was fine when Baldwin killed the cinematographer, it was only damaged after by the FBI when they beat it to pieces in an attempt to get it to go off without pulling the trigger, which they discovered couldn't be done.
Baldwin pulled the trigger.
What would you do with a yard this steep?
From a link within OP's link, and get this, SHE got sued in the process!...
It all started in 2018, when Annaleine “Anne” Reynolds thought she’d found the perfect, serene parcel in Paradise Park to host her meditative healing women’s retreats.
“There’s a sacredness to it and the one that I chose to buy had all the right qualities,” she said.
The price was also right — available in a county tax auction for about $22,500.
But while she waited in California through the pandemic for the right time to use it, the lot was bulldozed and a house rose on the property. She was unaware of the construction until she got a call last year from a real estate broker who had learned the mistake.
“And then he informed me, ‘oh well, I just sold the house, and it happens to be on your property,’” Reynolds recalled.
“So we need to resolve this. And I’m like, what? Are you kidding me?”
What’s undisputed is that PJ’s Construction was hired by developer Keaau Development Partnership, LLC to build about a dozen homes on properties that the developers bought in the subdivision — where the lots are identified by telephone poles.
An attorney for PJ’s Construction said the developers didn’t want to hire surveyors.
The Varamyr prolog in A Dance With Dragons is there to clue readers in on how Jon Snow's resurrection will go down.
Varamyr is dying and tries to permanently warg into a Wilding human, this fails so he's forced to permanently warg into his wolf One-Eye, despite knowing that over time, (a period so far not made clear) his soul/spirt will be subsumed by the wolf's.
But Jon Snow will only be warged into Ghost for a short time. There's no story telling reason to keep him warged for more than a chapter, which in-setting would probably be a week or so and likely, just a few days.
Because the Wildings and Jon Snow loyalists in the Nights Watch are going to quickly take control from the conspirators and at that point, there will be a funeral pyre set up and just before they light the fire, Melisandre carries out the standard R’hllorian death ritual and he magically comes back to life.
I think Jon Snow will become a "changed man" in a way but it won't be something comic booky like becoming more wolf-like (that's reserved for Rickon The Mad Wolf Stark).
(Spoilers Main) Possible Jon Snow ending in the books?
