I saw a while back someone said they buy diamond powder from one of the Chinese websites and makes their own emulsion.
They may have linked a video guide.
Does anyone have any specific recommendations on what do buy and how to mix?
Thanks!

Wicked edge is good and all but why not diversify a little bit?
If it was sold as used and they’re offering a full refund, take it. 100%.
Yep. I’d recommend returning and not really much else.
Just as an update did exactly what we talked about. Ended up pouring 800lb of concrete and the damn thing is solid. “It ain’t goin’ nowhere”
No way. That equipment shouldn’t touch that knife. They’d chew up that small recurve and it would look like shit. Big difference between a set of Henckels and a custom folder. Not saying that guy was bad but that’s way over his head, rest in peace.
For that kind of money, I’d expect a QC person to be going over that thing with a jeweler’s loupe before shipping. Unacceptable.
For sure that’s a crazy oversight but if he’s dead set on keeping it I’d want it documented that the manufacturer put the edge on it. Like I said I’d personally send it back and look to spend my thousands elsewhere.
Not a dumb question, that’s unacceptable.
Get a refund. You don’t want a random person sharpening a knife that’s that expensive. Maybe contact Todd Fischer to see if they’ll do it to their standards for free. I’d also want it in writing that they are the ones who did the work. If not I’d send it back.
Trust me, don’t mess around with that thing you WILL NOT be satisfied with the results and AC wouldn’t take it back. I sharpen as a side gig and I wouldn’t touch that thing with a 10 foot pole.
Basically yes. I’ve taken apart my gen 3 scarab to clear gunk out of the stops.
They are functionally the same
Your combo deal was also pretty sweet shoulda snagged it myself. If you want to make the same combo deal on the scarab, I’ll figure out the wonky issue. I’ll cover the extra shipping and only one trip to the P.O.!
Ah duh. I have one and forgot about the torx. If it’s hitting the back and bouncing must be something up with that stop. Take the spring carrier out and move the blade forward and backward. See if there’s anything interfering with the stops. Do that before you pull the small springs out since that’s the most tedious.
Does it seem like it’s fully retracting and bouncing back or does it not retract the whole way at all?
You can get the take down tool on the Chinese sites. There are 2 blade stops at the front and back. There is a conical spring under each. They have to be seated in a certain way or some gunk may have gotten in it stopping it from working correctly. You’ll just want to make sure the spring is seated right and the blade stop travels the whole path. Also good to do inside of a paper bag since they are small and can fly around.
If it’s the fail to retract making you want to sell it, you can take the scarab apart and make sure that the spring under the back stop is seated correctly.
You can bring down the spine a little until you get a nice point. Doesn’t look like it would take much
I have an obsidian 9 and love it. Very quiet in the long configuration and very compact in the short while still seemingly hearing safe. Also rated for hot calibers so I can use it on my 357X.
Youre grinding material off from the first side and when you flip it there’s less steel to go through to get to the apex.
Good was about to make bad decision haha
YTA. If they wanted a cat they’d get their own. Keep your cat inside so it doesn’t annoy others.
