I liked the story and fights, loved how it was bleaker than Baki and Kengan at the underground fights portrayal. All characters are flawed and that's good. Pretty nice show.
Love the contrast between Kabru and Laios armor styles and functionalities. Both don't wear full plate, too pricey and the movement restriction, constant need of care and weight would be bad in a dungeon setting. Kabru's armor is more generalist and meant to fight humans, while Laios is very focused on monster threats. He only needs vambraces so if a creature tries to bite him he shoves it in their mouth, no need for gauntlets and further arms protection as he won't be facing blades. Thick chestplate for all the bashings, headbutts and slams he will be meeting as the party's tank. Thick neck protection as most creatures instinctively target that area, rounded so claws will slide to his chest, tiny gap near chin as he doesn't need to worry for, again, blades. Heavy shoulderpads on both arms as creatures will bite and jump there. Kabru wears chainmail with a leather chestplate over, protecting against cuts and helping greatly against thrusts, also not restrictive like a steel chestplate, fitting his dexterous style. Chainmail neck protection, mostly against blades, and shoulderpad over his left arm. Most medieval sword stances have you with your left side forward, so he protects the shoulder who will meet most enemies while leaving the arm that will need more range of motion for his swordplay only covered in chainmail. Author really think it through in design to reflect the lore and story, they are specialized at completely different types of enemies.
