Rusty used ones have hardly been a discount to new ones since Covid unfortunately. Just picked up some new (off-brand) dumbbells for only about 10% more than used.

Makes me thankful for the SOA testing process. Don't get me wrong, there's still some BS, but it feels like Prometric is generally on top of it. The CBT testing format is pretty ironed out at this point.

Sorry to all the CAS bros, this is truly unfair to experience any added stress on top of an already-stressful exam experience.

I don’t think we’re interested with those that have exactly 1 drop in x KC here though. Showing 1+ drops, or 0 drops would more appropriately reflect the point.

For example if someone got spooned with DWH at 5kc and then did 9,000 kc dry (3x rate) they’d be in the 15% with 1 DWH or 20% with 1 or fewer. Sure they’re kinda dry but they did get the drop. I don’t think this is a person of interest.

What I got from your post is that we’re interested in those dry with no drops to their name, which would be 5% in that example, substantially less than what is shown in the chart.

(With that being said I agree with the post and the info was good enough to get the point across, thanks)

Having a defined strategy with clear entry and exit points to reduce drawdown + backtested support is not the same as being an emotional panic seller

Agreed, I found that I did learn some things from the exams that were actually useful and/or interesting. But too much of my time is spent grinding flashcards that I’ll personally forget shortly after.

Memorizing is important for speed more than anything. There are a lot of questions I could reasonably answer if I sat around and thought about it for 5 minutes, or I can memorize the list and bang it out in 20 seconds.

The only study I know of that covers this suggests no evidence for a difference in production. If your season is long it is probably a waste of time. If your season is short you're reducing the first harvest when you likely won't get more than a couple harvests.

I am not a fan of anecdotal evidence because there are far too many variables at play to properly assess the difference. Year over year changes, soil, sunlight, random variation when comparing a couple plants to one another, etc...

You can find the study by googling "FLOWER THINNING ON THE PRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE OF BELL PEPPER HYBRIDS"

I’d google it cause pics will do better justice than my explanation, but basically once the tomato is full sized, and jusssst starts turning from green to non-green. Could be yellow, pink, or other depending on the variety.

There’s still some debate, but my own experience is that these greenish yellow tomatoes ripen just fine on the counter and avoid any weather or bug damage that could occur in the final ripening stages. I have lots of pesky pests so this really helps me personally.

Once the tomato hits the breaker stage / color change the flavor is going to be pretty much indistinguishable from fully ripened on the vine.

I waited til outside temps were 45-50 minimum on the 10 day forecast for tomatos and peppers

Put them on my patio the first day such that they got 0 sun. Each day, for maybe 4-5 days I moved them a foot or so away from the shade into more and more sun. They’re doing fine, and personally I just don’t want the hassle of moving them in and out day after day.

For reference, i had them facing east. They got morning sun until a fence, the house, or something blocked the sun. I moved them a bit further away from any obstruction to get more and more sun.

I think that’d be ok! If you only have a couple plants you could probably do like 1/4 gallon and 1/4 dose as well if it isn’t too much trouble.

Not an expert (in year 2 myself) but I think a fertilizer higher in nitrogen would be good until the plant is bigger. I’ve read nitrogen is better early for plant and leaf growth and phosphorus later for fruit.

My seedlings were turning yellow and purple at about this size and needed fertilizer. Weird since it didn’t happen last year under similar conditions. A 1/4 strength dose of fertilizer fixed it.

Check if it is bone dry first like the other commenter mentioned.

I’m not saying don’t buy and hold, just know what you’re signing up for. Having some $$ in both strats could be worth it especially if you’re thinking about tax implications.

Personally I do the 200ish MA strat because the risk seems so much lower while the upside is still pretty darn good. Worst case it takes me 1-2 years longer to get to my goal of early retirement, but that is worth it if it means I’m not risking going to $0.

The last 5 years have been a long bull market. The COVID "crash" was back to ATHs within 3 months. 2022 was similarly not that bad.

Sustained downside and volatility similar to 2001 or 2008 are real events that could happen again. If your strategy is buy and hold, that is fine, but it is important to understand the risk/reward. You may see more upside but you're
also taking a risk of a drawdown that will take many years to recover from.

The idea behind the MA strategies is basically "I am going to avoid the (very small) chance of blowing my account up to near-$0, at the cost of a fairly small amount of gains".

Please don't invest in LETFs until you understand the concepts that others have pointed out. These products are great, but they are risky and are not all-upside.

Baymeadows Rd East between Ikea and Salsas has some options in that price range. Not bummy like the rest of Baymeadows. 10-15 mins to most spots in the town center including rush hour traffic.

Sweet! Looks like more $savings$ are in my future. Thank you

I started buying the regular hand soap and diluting it 4:1 and it foams perfectly. Crazy prices for a bottle of lightly soaped water.

Fair assessment for sure. I should also have mentioned I was mostly moving ikea and similarly cheap as shit furniture where I wouldn’t have been too upset if anything was a bit banged up. The service was not professional, just good enough for my use case. Usually 2 college aged buddies or something, and they acted accordingly.

Rent your own uhaul, and use uhaul moving help site. Tons of movers listed on there with hourly rates and reviews. Used 3 times now and overall acceptable to great experience each time. Had some movers show 90 mins late once which is my only complaint, still worth the savings.

Will probably be the cheapest option by far and the only difference is you’re driving the truck.

Haven’t been to color me mine, but doing dishes was pretty chill. Went with 5 adults and it was relaxing and empty on a Sunday morning (though this was before the holidays).

Got a 2 hour time slot which was good for 4/5 of us, but they let us stay as long as we needed to finish since there was nobody waiting for a table.

If Color Me is nicer as the other commenter mentioned I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

This happened to my plants back in July/August in florida too! The nutrient deficiency would make sense because we got sooooo much rain for a few weeks there and I got lazy with the fertilizing around that time as well.

Good thing you don’t make the rules

Don’t have the pdf anymore but I was able to find the pdf online back in the day.

Can’t really confirm either way since it’s been so long but there should be a mention of the book somewhere in the slides. Link seems right to me since the title is pretty much identical to my previous comment. Good luck, those modules are somethin
