So, the best part about this kind of art is you can paint it all white and start over if you don’t like it!
A few ideas: Start with fewer colors. You’ve got a lot of colors, and starting with 5 or so should help pull the piece together.
Keep your colors all in the same tone. You’ve got cools and warms that are clashing (that dark brown and the oranges) and it’s messing with the flow.
Maybe layout your overall design first to give you a general idea.
Use big brushes. And even if you’re using an outline, don’t be afraid to go a little rogue and go outside the lines.
To get that built up textured look, you need tissue something g like joint compound or plaster of Paris mixed in with your paints. I don’t know ratios, sorry.
