And he doesn't know the difference between your/you're. What a snowflake πŸ˜†

Ain't that the truth! I'm taking passengers for way less than I used to just to make rent

As an atheist I still say Merry Christmas at times because it means nothing to me but a well wishing for the holiday season. I do however draw a line when someone says Have A Blessed Day! No thanks! I'll settle for a Nice day instead!

And if you want to escape your office party then that's something else fun to do! And free!

FYI, the holiday tree lighting is Sat Dec 2nd (tonight) from 5-9 pm at the Capital. Congress ave will be blocked from cars for ped traffic and will be a big event with vendors and music so parking will be competitive

I wouldn't worry about a different delivery vehicle with Uber Eats, as long as your order is correct. But if you're going to take a ride, definitely do not get into a car if the plate# and/or driver don't match. I've delivered a few orders in a friend's car when mine was in the shop before.

AND if bicyclists did the same, even stopping at stop signs? That would be epic!

No, where South Lamar ends at 360. Brodie Oaks shopping center, 4040 S. Lamar

Twin Liquors owns Reubens and that Stassney/Congress location used to be the main office for Twin Liquors, back when they had many less store locations

Brodie Oaks shopping center at S Lamar and 360 (where there will soon be construction to build condos and new stores) was once the town dump. It was the southern edge of the city.

Stiles Switch BBQ parking lot and next door store fronts on North Lamar were the filming location in Dazed and Confused pool hall scene where we first saw McConaughey

Thanks for mentioning the name of the company, everyone should be outing the bad businesses to work for!

I've dropped people off twice at the airport this morning and so far did not look busy. Anticipated high traffic time is supposed to start at 1pm and on into the evening, according to Uber and Lyft driver apps

Kinda makes me want to get arrested! Or at least searched ;)

For the last 3 Thanksgivings I have noticed Thanksgiving week being the absolute slowest week of the whole year. It's easier to deal with when you know that this will always be the case this time every year.

Same here! Monday will be back to normal and hopefully VERY busy

Thanksgiving week is always the slowest week out of the year for deliveries.

There's one in Moonshine, good place to store the wine. That building was a general store for most of it's life so that's probably where they stored things that needed to be kept cool. I would think it was common to dig down to make sure your establishment had a cellar in the 1800s.

I drove Uber Eats in Springfield and around Alexandria/Arlington etc a few years ago before moving away. It was ok money but not as much driving passengers. You end up sitting in a lot of traffic too so you have to be really strategic about where you're going and times of day. Also Northern Va/DC has a lot of pick ups and drop offs on streets where there is no parking or only metered parking. In Old Town and some parts of Arlington and all over the District you will have to find parking, then may still have to wait awhile at restaurants before the order is ready so make sure there's enough in the meter. Or dropping off often there's no where to park and you'll have to call and ask the customer to come down and meet you. It's really a pain unless you can stick to suburbs. I remember a few painful experiences of trying to deliver orders to medical buildings where the doors were locked and I couldn't get a hold of the customer, or there was an impossible parking situation and customer wasn't answering my calls. You're not making money on all that time lost. I was happier just driving passengers so I didn't have to constantly try to find parking and the money is better

Pinthouse pizza, Aviator, Brooklyn Pie, East Side Pies ?

Yesterday arrived at an apartment complex with a gate, so I waited a minute there. She texts with her building number and instructions. I text her, the gate is closed. Only then did she text the gate code. I drove in, expecting she'd be out there waiting. Nope. I'm parked in front of her building for another minute when she texts Be out in 2 mins! I hit cancel gtf outta there. The nerve of some people! You have time to text a bunch of words to me, you've got time to get moving out the door!

Never never ever wait at the airport.

Had one recently where I waited 5 minutes before she came out of the house, put a bag of trash into her garbage can on the side of the house and didn't make eye contact or anything with me. I got out to help her with the suitcase, greeted her cheerily and she just kinda brushed that off and got in. Pulling out onto the street, she said by the way I am in a hurry and running late to the airport so, whatever you can do, you know.

I just said well, there's only one highway route to get there and traffic isn't bad now and proceeded to annoy her with a bad traffic story from the day before at the airport and said, so it should be fine today! She rolled her window down, as my AC was running (in TX) and did not respond or chat back in any way. Getting on the highway that bitch pulls out a big bag of chips and proceeds to start crunching away. I usually put my foot down but we're halfway there and on the freeway. I gave her some sideways glances of disgust and turned up the AC and the music as I made sure to slow down to the mph speed limit. I'm fuming.

She got a one star, wish I could have gone lower. Wtf is wrong with peope?! You can't be over the top rude and then ask for favors!
